Is there anywhere in an object's coding that determines if the design tool works with it or not? I though that if an object had the "The Design Tool Cannot Be Used On This Object" message that all I would have to do is to add some recolours to it but that isn't working for what I am trying. I recently noticed that the frames for photographs ARE recolourable but the frames for paintings are NOT recolourable. I made some test recolours for the large painting canvas (first as additional recolours and then tried as a default override) but I still can't use the Design Tool on the frame. Is this behaviour something that can be changed?

Should I take the lack of response to mean that it can't be done/ nobody knows how?

Share a few .packages you've been working with. I haven't tried to do this since it was fixed early on, this is a special case object I guess.

These are the two packages I was playing with before I moved onto a different project. The first contains four additional colours> www.simfileshare.net/download/312701/The second is a default replacement with three additional colours> www.simfileshare.net/download/312702/They are both for the large canvas painting only. Neither of them seem to have any effect. I assume it's because they are craftables.

I did take a look at this in some depth. I don't think it will be able to be recolored (except as an override) without creating a new recipe for each swatch or a complete rewrite of the python painting scripts.

Thought as much. Thanks for taking a look though.

What's the actual name of the object that you cloned. I could not find the one orangemittens referred to

I cloned the "Large Painting paintCanvasLrgGEN_01" from the debug clone section.
