Hello,
So I was attempting to separate a dress to only keep the top. I followed some tutorials found here about mesh editing and all that stuff. I put the edited mesh into a base game tank top, making sure the cut was the same (in blender), but now I find myself with a "floating" shirt (images).
Also, I was thinking of replacing the mesh within the original file (so without transfering it to a bg top), and I think I need to edit the geometry? I'm not sure which solution is the easiest to make.

EDIT: I know I need to edit the texture because it overlaps the skin, hopefully when I'll solve the problem it'll be easier to fix it!
