It's a high poly curly hair that I am trying to import in blender as a 3ds file, and it comes out with missing parts, and looks very choppy. When I highlight the mesh (the orange lines, when you select something) it looks like what it's suppose to be like. I tried importing it as an OBJ file, and it came out even worse.

it could be a number of things. it could be your export settings in 3dsmax, the fact that it's high poly, or etc. can you share your 3ds and blend file? if you feel uncomfortable doing that, you can private message it.

I want to but I can't because I'm using my phone to type this out. I have no wifi to upload the file with, and I used up all of my GB for my mobile hotspot. I'll try to take the bus to a starbucks, so is it okay if I contact you tomorrow?

your mesh truly does have a high poly count. 70k is very high. most hairs only have around 8-12k. i think the reason it looks choppy is because your blender may not be able to handle the poly count. i imported it into my blender by obj and it looked fine. if you're going to export it by obj, make sure you have the correct export settings

I would have also said reduce the polycount. With it that high it could crash someones game, and we dont want that. There arent really any other suggestions I can make until I see the package myself.
