i'm not sure i understand your question.. that tutorial is a very good video on how to create maxis match hair from scratch, step by step. can you expand on what you want? are you trying to figure out how to make recolors of maxis match hair or how to make the texture in the first place?

Well you see i want to make Maxis Match Hair of any kind just using blender but either two things happen it doesnt look right or it wont import into my game it shows up as it should but when i click on the hair to put it on it doesnt work it just comes up with the original hair i put into the game... i think maybe because im using standalone but i cant use any other ones you see im on mac... i posted a diffrent thread about that issue no one has responded but i just wanted one that would make it look good... Thanks!

The tutorial you linked shows the process of hair creation, not how to import the hair into game. That's why it fits right to what you first asked, that was step by step for creating a hair from scratch. After you're done with the mesh you have to match all the mesh groups (and their respective cut numbers) of the original hair with your blend. I suggest you reading this tutorial that explains the basics of the process. This is how hairs are composed, each mesh group represents a different state and your blend must match all this groups and cut numbers. When in doubt, always export the original item and compare it to your project to see that everything matches. Once that is done, you'll have to weight it (preferred using blender 2.70) (in your case, you can assign a single bone that would be the Head, explained in the first tutorial i link in this post.
