I made a bow tie and its too shiny, so I wanted to import the matt specular, but when i reopen the file in s4s i see that the EA spec is there again. Is this a common problem? Or can should I just renew my mesh?

Is your game up to date with the latest version of S4S? Try re cloning the object and doing the package again. If that doesn't solve it please share the files here.

It says the screen format is 64x64.. I see that the specs are rectangles and not squares. I cant edit this spec file in photoshop, cause my photoshop does not want to open these files for some reason. I cant edit it :(
IF i make the spec blank, will it be shiny or matte?

You have to download the NVidia plugin to edit .dds files in Photoshop. Take a look at the PS versions it supports. Specular is composed by two textures, the dds and the mask.dds. Bump maps only have 1 texture and are rectangular. What of those two are you trying to edit? Please share the .package file and your textures if you want someone to take a look.

I don't see any specular on the package you sent me. Can you please attach your textures, the ones you're trying to import.

Just wanted to share that clearing the spec already made the texture mat. i did not have to go through the nvidia plug in.. I know i should do it anyway, but i am never sure where to install the folder. So with the other way I solved the question as well for now
