Hi oiwa, I recommend removing all custom content from your game and going back to see if the issue persists even when you have no CC/Mods installed. If it does, this is a problem on EA's side and it should be reported to them. If the problem goes away when you remove all CC/Mods, you can try doing the 50/50 method to hunt down the content that is causing the issue. @wj , which EA items are causing the problem? Do you know if this is happening in everyone's game or if (maybe) it's a new graphics card/game settings problem introduced by the patch? it's a game setting related thing. They changed something in their Ambient Occlusion setting that is messing things up from what I noted, As I stated, I will soon post a fix to this xD (very simple really)

hello guys! after the latest update, lot of ppl are experiencing problems with shadows showing through meshes... solution for this problem has been found ( you can see it HERE ) BUT those steps have to be repeated for every single object separately. My question is can you guys make this as a batch fix? Thats a very tedious method. The best thing would be to get rid of SSAO until they fix it.

It's definitely not a graphics card issue! My PC is custom built for gaming, and my graphics card is SUPER DUPER amazing!

Hi all, now that the latest version of Studio is out with batch-fixes for the distorted CAS items, benches, and 6-seat dining tables and a stronger fix for sofas/loveseats, I wanted to go through the thread and see what else is out there that requires batch fixing. Kaizoku-Gal , shortly after the patch came out we tried fixing the hair by blanking the normal, but that solution left the hairs fixed that way looking abnormally shiny. Your solution to swap in a blank normal appears to be a far superior fix and one worth doing. This will be added in as a batch-fix if all goes well. An example counter and refrigerator have been sent and these items will be batch-fixed if they differ from EA's updated versions in some way. The issue with the shadows is a little less clear-cut. From the pictures that people have posted, it almost seems as if there might be two different issues, but since I've not received any examples (if someone sent one and I missed it I apologize) I cannot be sure. Also, if the issue is affecting EA items also, this isn't a CC-specific issue and, instead, is something in the game code that EA will probably end up fixing. If they're going to fix it, it's not a good idea for us to do so because we may then end up having to make a batch-fix to back out changes that were rendered not only unnecessary but, possibly detrimental. In that case, I'd rather wait to find out what EA's plan is for the problem. If anyone is aware of a shadow problem that affects CC items only, please let me know and send an example item. It's fine to PM me an example item and it's far better to do that then just sending me a link. The issues with toilets at venues can be looked into if someone could send me a toilet with the problem (if someone sent one and I missed it, I apologize). Also, if you could give me a bit of step-by-step instruction on how to reproduce the problem in my game that would help (I'm not sure exactly under what circumstances the toilet doesn't work right and what it is doing that is wrong). If there's anything I missed, please let me know. There were so many things that got a bit screwy with this patch that it's hard to keep it all straight. If there are CC items that were rendered non-functional in some way that are amenable to batch-fixing we're willing to fix them. Information that is needed for a batch-fix: 1. is the problem one that only affects CC items. 2. are all CC items of that type affected by the problem 3. what is the item supposed to do (or look like) and what is it actually doing that's wrong 4. a .package that displays the problem.

Answering your questions: 1. The problem involves all CC toilets. I tried 4 different ones. 2. A venue that requires a toilet such as a gym, nightclub, lounge, or park.....if you go into build mode and then drop down the requirements section for the lot with a CC toilet on the lot, it says you have 0/1 available when in my case there's clearly about 10 toilets there, and when you try to leave the lot, it says that the lot isn't finished and in map view, it has one of those orange incomplete signs over the venue . In some cases the lot won't load when you travel to it if it's not considered complete. Here's a CC toilet I use for one of my lots that you can try as an example: Dropbox

Thanks you so much for doing this! There are a few problems that i mentioned, where i wonder if others have this too. I wrote it a few comments above about the transparency issues and weird texture on all recolours of an object. If you want me to send the objects with weird textures, lamps that dont work anymore and CC with not showing transparency anymore, pls let me know

Even after doing the batch fixes, my beds, sofas, and benches are not working. Am I doing something wrong?

Hi blkymtgy, thank you for explaining the issue and sending the .package. If the issue can be batch-fixed, it will be.
Hi fursims, are the issues you're describing occurring only with CC objects or do they affect EA items too? If the issue only affects CC objects, does it affect all objects of that type or just one or two here and there? If it affects all of that type, or a significant number of them, could you describe the issue and send a .package that displays the problem?
Hi shelleycrosthwait, which version of Studio are you using? The most recent version (3.1.0.5) has an updated couch/loveseat batch fix in it that should get most, if not all, CC seating items fixed. Also, when you run the batch-fix make sure you run it on the files that you plan to use in the game. Once it has run, the files in the folder you pointed it at are the ones that are fixed. The ones in the backup folder are not fixed. Those are copies of the pre-fixed packages in case you need them for some reason. A couple people have run into the issue you're describing when they placed the backup files into their Sims 4/Mods folder instead of leaving the fixed files in there.

Your solution to swap in a blank normal appears to be a far superior fix and one worth doing. This will be added in as a batch-fix if all goes well. Thanks! I've been testing more things and I've found out that those broken hairstyles that already had a normal map can keep the original instead of replacing it with a blank one (that was a quite drastic solution). You have to export the normal map that comes with the hairstyle, save, make it blank and import back the normal.

Just wanted to share that even with a game with no mods, just the one that i am testing. CC objects with created transparency (so not originally) wont work. Is there anyone else who experiences this?
All the mods i once had with transparency, just show full planes now. CC plants, that had already transparency in them are fine. Even if i make a new mesh with the latest s4s version, the transparency issue still shows up in the game.

Just putting this here if it have not been solved yet. Counters have an additional footprint resource within the "object polygons" section of the main resource. There used to be 2 and now there are 3. I imported the binaries from the original counter i used to create my kitchens (Harbinger, its not a linked footprint but the one all the others are linked to) and cats now jump onto the counters. So it seems I have solved that issue for myself, assuming I haven't missed anything else in the resources, but it appears to work well now.

CC Microwaves need a Batch Fix. Here is my LastException that gets thrown any time a dog or cat stares at my microwaves with slot overrides: LE Link
