Hi midnightsky, unfortunately, the news about this issue isn't very good so far. I see the same issue you're illustrating, but only with glass hair. In some cases, if you strip the bump, the hair will brighten but becomes very shiny. In other cases, hair that didn't have a bump still shows the issue. It's not clear what the problem is, but I think it could be (possibly) that EA made a change to the glass shader people are using for alpha hair. I am not sure of that, but it's definitely on the list of things that could cause this kind of issue.

If you are having problems seeing the CAPTCHA, please clear your browser's cache and cookies and ensure that you do not have any browser addons or extensions that interfere with the display of the CAPTCHA. Then, close the CAPTCHA window and click on the register button to open the CAPTCHA again.
