Hi! Firstly, I hope I am posting in the right spot. I loved the updo from cats and dogs but wish I could take the headband off and use it as a "hat" or even "accessory" so I could have all the colors/patterns from every hair color. I was wondering if there were tutorials on here I missed or could someone explain how to. I'm still limited on knowledge of blender but I was able to remove it and the textures but was lost after I opened my game and there was still textures of the hair Edit: imgur.com/a/AgeWn this is how it looks in blender and sims 4 studio imgur.com/a/wDv0Y this is how it looks in game. The Bangs are showing because I have the hair selected with the 'hat" on but i'm talking about the hair mesh/texture under the headband and how to remove that an be able for the "hat" to go over the headband on the original hair so I can change it to whatever color, I hope this makes sense

Did you manage to fix it? I have the same problem (but for me not even the texture shows up in-game).

I know you mentioned doing this as two separate items, but do you mind a suggestion? I would do a recolor of each hair color and headband as it would be a lot easier than totally re-meshing it and fixing the hair.
So example(idk the actual combos so just go with me): brown hair and polka dot headband + blond with a striped headband, you download both swatches. then using a photo editing software with layers (like photoshop or gimp) you open them both as a new layer. You have a top layer of the blond hair and just erase the striped headband till you see the polka dots on the lower layer, save as a new file and you've made a new recolor. after that, you can just replace the layer beneath it with the other headbands and save each one as a new file. ' To upload them you can add them as a "create cas standalone" (which would be a new object) or just "add cas part swatch"
if you want me to add pictures to this I'll find an example and do it <3
---- PS as a hair and accessory, your going to want to make the headband a necklace or glasses, so the sims hair doesn't change when you equip the item

You import your mesh and texture into a ring or bracelet and then change the category from your item to the hat.

You'll have to do what you said yes.

yes you can do it with any slot (accessory), they are probably suggesting ring because not a lot of people use them and they are good for cc if you still want necklaces etc. go ahead and try it with just > create standalone > necklace/ring/whatever> then delete the old mesh and replace it with the headband. if it doesnt look right take some sample pictures and just post them in the thread so someone can see. i just suggest the recoloring because it's a little less fiddling involved xD

Thank you so much! You’re totally right, if I can’t get it after two tries I’m just going to recolor it
