So I was wondering how to use the boolean difference modifier to make a hat mesh cut off I did it before then blender crashed and it no longer works now.... any help? Here's the .blend fileThanks!

Hi! Well well well.. that's new haha, i'm more of a Mc gyver always on the edge of danger because i never knew about that modifier and always did my hat chops manually XD. What a dummy.
If it used to work then have you tried closing all other programs and leaving Blender only? Maybe it's consuming to much memory when applying the modifier.
I'm not sure if this is useful for you but if all fails and you can't make the modifier work then this is what i do. I use the 'knife project' button. What i do is export 2 different hats (for each hat chop). Delete most of the mesh leaving only the circular oval that goes over the head and use that as the shape for cutting. When it's cut i go manually deleting and cleaning the hair or whatever is that you're cutting.

okay thanks and yeah I ended up doing the hat chopping with the knife tool!
