Hi, I know that UntraditionalNerd has an explanation of emission maps, however the images aren't showing up and I'm having a hard time following just the text. When I export the EA eye colour it saves as a .png file, but would it need to be a .dds file to use the alpha channel? Would I add that directly to the same image file or upload a separate file with the emission map to S4S?
I hope this makes sense, I didn't realise vampire eyes would pose such a challenge.

There's a separate file for the emission map. I think the alpha channel is responsible for how quick it fades and flares up, so if you want eyes with a constant glow, your best bet is to leave the alpha channel the way it is. Also it would probably be easier to export it as DDS because while you CAN use PNG with transparency, it would mean you'd have to apply that transparency to the texture itself as in taking your layer and lowering its transparency. And that would make working with that texture really cumbersome because you'd have to go to the layer settings and change it back and forth if you want to do any changes. BTW if you struggle with text, there's a video on how to add light to clothing made by Bakie in a thread here: sims4studio.com/thread/3216/video-tutorial-dynamic-clothing-updatedBasically you have to have a DDS file with a pure black alpha channel and the glowing stuff on the RGB channel on a black background.
