I observed this but wanted to confirm is it is intentional or a bug. The new version of LOVE fixed for the 26/03 patch is a little different in this aspect for me. The mesh was always included in the files if I chose to create a standalone recolor of clothing.
Now I have to choose create mesh (even if I don't want to change the mesh) to keep the mesh (GEO files) inside the package. Is it how supposed to be? Just wanted to know I don't have a bug or something.
Thank you!

Sims 4 Studio has always had two separate options for recoloring CAS items:
1. Standalone recolor - for cases where you plan to keep the basic garment completely as it is and change only the fabric pattern. This type of recolor does not require bump editing. The standalone recolor option does not include the mesh because it is not needed and to include it would cause unnecessary bloating of the .package. Because it doesn't include the mesh it also doesn't include the bump because for Sims 4 items EA included the bump and the mesh inside the same resource. This option should only be used if you don't plan to edit the bump and it *should* be used if you don't plan to edit the bump. It should also be used in all cases where you are recoloring someone else's mesh that doesn't want you sharing their mesh.
2. Create 3D Mesh - for cases where you plan to use alpha editing to change what parts of the Sim are covered by the garment. This option includes the mesh because the bump map, which you need to edit for this kind of recolor, is stored inside the GEOM resource that also holds the mesh. Including the mesh when all that's wanted is a recolor does increase the size of the .package but this is unavoidable because of how EA has the .package put together.
These two options are the same in LOVE as they have been for every version of Studio since Studio began.

Interesting. Then I had a bug before this version. Or maybe i edited them through just opening it and making the recolor and now I think I created recolor through standalone option. I got confused because all having to edit the alpha through the create a mesh prob. Sorry for my confusion.

No worries It is confusing how EA included the bump in the mesh resource. I wish they hadn't done so but we're stuck with it.

I know you are a busy person, but I have another question about meshing XD dunno if I can post here. I am making some puffed sleeves in blender, and even assigning weight and vertex paint, the sleeves keep being kinda weirdly part of the mesh transparent/see through/disappearing, what could I be doing wrong? Thank you again!

If you zoom in that close to the garment in the model viewer part of it will fade similar to how things fade when you get very close to them in the game. Does it look like that if you aren't zoomed in so close?
