Hello. I need help. I have noticed that shadow LOD's shaders have changed from shadowmap to instanced window since this patch. While I was trying a new window, I noticed that cloned windows did not project shadows after the patch. Here are the pictures I have taken. The window on the left is a newly cloned window. And I exported the meshes from cloned window and imported it without modification. I didn't even open the exported meshes in Blender. The right window is the "Tête-à-Tête" window within the game. I think the shadow mesh is not recognized in the game. Am I wrong? Is there a way to solve this problem? I want to know the cause of this problem and how to solve it. In the picture below, the window on the right is a cloned window.

I am experiencing this issue as well. What I have noticed is Maxis has changed the formatting of the Shadow Groups. Instead of the instanced window groups being merged into one, the shadow mesh is now made up of the unmerged groups. I have changed all the cut numbers as well as try editing the shadow lod of an existing window shadow group to no avail. In my picture the ones with the correct shadowing have only been converted to 2 tile so no mesh editing, while the ones with incorrect shadowing have all been edited. The round window still have the original sunshadow meshes since i haven't changed them out to see if it was the importation of the normal meshes or shadow meshes that was mucking things up (turns out issue arises once shadow meshes are changed). Photo (for those that can't see it)Here is a copy of my window too so someone can look at it. It does require C+D though. OneDrive

Hopefully it is working now, if not there is an alternate link to it.

The .packages and meshes look fine. The cutout is what shows the shadow on the floor inside. I did a test with vero's window as seen below. I will adjust my cutout tutorial to reflect this.

I see your point brujah, however, there is no doubt that round-tripping all shadow lods is causing the light-casting to break (I duplicated the test using the Tête-à-Tête window). Regardless of anything else, a round-trip of the shadow LODs should not cause changes that alter the in-game appearance of the light cast through the window. Something has changed, so Studio will need an update to accommodate the change.

I've been doing some tests on this and I don't know how to explain it but I'll try ... I have not been able to pinpoint the issue but I have made a little progress. ALL of my older version windows still function properly showing both the mesh and outside shadow. I compared one of them to vero 's window I have been working with and noticed that the shadow LODs appear to have taken on the diffuse material settings and similar mesh structure. I changed the shader and removed the material settings to match mine and as if by magic the outside shadow appears! Although herein lies the issue, the diffuse mesh is no longer visible.

The issue seems to be the PosScales in the shadow LODs. Studio is calculating them based on the size of the mesh. It seems that the shader settings that are used in this recent patch want them to all be set to 1. Studio will be updated to do this automatically.

I can confirm that the fix provided by andrew works like a charm. The interior shadow is displayed as well. See image below using vero's window.
