Before Cats and Dogs was even released I had decided that I would convert the dog houses from TS3 using the pet beds as a base.
I've got the mesh working and the basic texture (only done the diffuse so far) and I've moved the slots so that the pets sit on the actual ground instead of floating.
The issue I am battling at the moment is how to stop them walking through the sides of the dog house to access the slots. Both pets and Sims will walk around the dog house when they're not using it with no problems. It all seems to depend on which side of the doghouse is clicked on and which slot they attempt to sit in.
If I click on the front of the dog house with a large dog (using the pets control mod) then he will enter through the door as desired and sit in the middle. Click on the other sides and he enters through the wall.
If a cat or small dog clicks on the front then it can be hit and miss as to whether they use the door or the piece of wall just to either side instead.
In a previous version I had moved all of the slots to occupy the same space in the centre of the dog house and while this did seem to improve the routing through the front for small pets, it also meant you could have multiple pets sit inside each other at the same time.
I assume I am going to have to alter the tuning but I don't know what I need to alter to change which direction pets access the dog house from. Or even if it's possible.
I have already tried removing all slots except for the middle one but that creates a script call failure. Removing the unwanted slots from the tuning file as well allows the object to be placed but then pets can't use it.
I've uploaded the package to SimFileShare for anyone who wishes to take a look.
