I have the current version of Blender (2.79) installed. I need the current version for Blender because I'm doing 3D artworks and my projects are bound to 2.79. The projects don't work with older versions of blender (shaders not applying, rigging fails, etc...). But I also can't use Blender 2.79 for Sims 4 Studio because when I want to export or import meshes it says that it requires Blender 2.70... And I even can't have both versions of Blender installed because the setup notices that there is a later version and aborts the installation.
Is there a Sims 4 Studio version that supports Blender 2.79? Or is there a way to make it use Blender 2.79?
I really need help because I am stuck with this! I can't use the current Blender version for Sims 4 Studio... I can't use the required Blender version for my 3D artworks... and I also can't have multiple Blender versions installed... It's a nightmare!

you could always install blender 2.70.zip instead of .exe

You can perfectly install blender 2.70 as well. You simply need to change the default installation path.

Studio only requires versions 2.70 or 2.76 to be a link between the two programs. You can do all the work in any other version or program and import the work afterwards. If you decide to download the Blender 2.70 as a zip file you can redirect Studio to that path. Or, you can also download the latest version or Blender in a Zip and work from that.
What specifically wouldn't work for you in this process? Modifiers or rigs don't get imported to Studio from Blender for CAS or Object creation.

Thanks for the big help guys! However, I already found a solution for my problem which is similar to the replies of Zelrish and Mathcope. I now have the current version (2.79) installed via Steam and the required version installed the usual way. For those who want to do it also my way here is the link to the Blender Steam version: store.steampowered.com/app/365670/It's kinda annoying to have multiple versions installed because I still need to get used by opening the right Blender but I guess that's the only way. Again, big thanks for the quick response!

I have Blender 2.78c installed and it works with Sims 4 Studio. I'm not sure why the general view is that Sims 4 Studio only works with 2.70. This version of Blender created lots of errors for me after extended use and I was advised here (on this site) to update to 2.78c. Works fine and has lots of shiny new things to play with.

freeasabird the general view is from many users who previously complained about 2.78 not working with Studio. Developers couldn't pinpoint what the issue with 2.78, so they suggested using 2.76 or 2.70. These 2 versions are confirmed working versions with Studio.

This version of Blender created lots of errors for me after extended use and I was advised here (on this site) to update to 2.78c. Works fine and has lots of shiny new things to play with. Blender is constantly updating and it has a lot of new corrections and features in the new versions that I prefer to work with. I use 2.79 as my main working program for modeling and everything really. I just use 2.70 to import into Studio and the game. If you had problems with 2.70, as Feyona said you can try 2.76 to import the meshes. Changing the Blender path in Studios settings allows you to select the rute of the program you want to use. Anyways, for sure update Blender, it's worth it.

All that failed for me was the vertex paint on lots of objects (2.70). I do have an issue where if I update/change my UV maps S4S sometimes shows the texture as stretched. But in game its fine? I am willing to go along with this for the added benefits. I would use W7 if I could, never had hardly any issues with that OS. Thank you both

try 2.70 and see if you get the error again. we also need you to copy the full error code and paste it here. we can't really understand it just from a picture.

Reinstalled 2.70 besides 2.79, even set it as default, yet Sims4studio still demands me to download 2.70...
I guess I'll have to wait till the devs figure out how to make it work with more recent versions of Blender (or at least remove the block from importing and exporting meshes), because I want to use 2.79 for other projects (and hence won't remove it).
Update: In the Settings, you can set the blender directory, so you can actually use it while the more recent version is installed too.

Hope this is ok to ask here, but I noticed that the Blender download link on this site links to 2.76a. Is version 2.76b also fully compatible with S4S? Thanks!
