Hi! I found a post about my issue (here: sims4studio.com/post/81326 ) but it seems to have been left unsolved for 4 or 5 months, so I'm creating a new thread. I'm brand new to recoloring, and I'm working on recoloring a hair. For my swatch thumbnails, I've uploaded square .png files with the color I need and intended to use the eyedropper tool to select the color and create it that way. However, when i right-click on any of the three squares for the watch thumbnail, the eyedropper tool appears as it should but the second I move my mouse the swatch turns black and I can't change the color. I'm pretty sure I'm using the newest version of S4S (Wishes), and because this was asked in the post I linked earlier: I am using a PC, and my computer is up to date. Thanks in advance for any help on the subject!

Hi plantghost - What version of windows are you using? - Do the swatches work properly when LEFT clicking on them? (Choose a color manually on the gradient pallet) - Are you using a trackpad (laptop) or a mouse - Did you try running Studio as an administrator?

Thanks for your response! I am running Windows 10 The swatches do work properly for me when left clicking; i am able to choose a color via the color wheel or use a hex code. I am using a track pad (I hope that’s not the problem, I don’t have another mouse 😭)
And no, I didn’t try running S4S as an administrator! I can try that later. **Update: I tried running as an administrator and it did not help.**

Well, the person in the other thread had mentioned she used a trackpad as well so I was a bit curious if this could somewhat be related to the issue. If you could borrow a mouse maybe to test it out would be of good value, but it might be something different anyway. Kinda hard to tell

But trackpads also have two buttons for right and left clic... so i don't see what would be the issue. I constantly use it on my end. Are you using the hard right clic button to click on the square of color?

Yes. It selected just as it should, but once I move the mouse it just goes black. I found an old wireless mouse and tried that, and it works totally fine with my computer. That leads me to think it's just some sort of bug?

It's really hard to tell.. maybe the pad on that particular notebook conflicts somehow.

Actually, after the first time I ran S4S as an administrator with the mouse and reported that it worked, it's now doing the same thing for me that it did with the trackpad.

It if stops working randomly then i can't really suggest anything but re-installation? I'm sorry for not having a define solution for your problem. Have you downloaded the latest version of S4S that got released?
