Hi all,
I have been trying to override one of the base game hampers to have functionality for actual laundry support. I have followed the tutorial for replacing the object definitions and tooltip tags as I have done in the past. However, this is my first time doing it with an interact-able object and I am having an issue getting it to work 100 percent properly. I did the hamper as an override, using the definitions from the Laundry Day plastic hamper.
The game seems to recognize it's a hamper, but clothes do not go into it automatically like they do with the Laundry Day hampers. It also appears that clicking the hamper and selecting to pick up the laundry does not work. It appears in the sims queue and then disappears. Clicking on the washing machines gives a dialog that you have to have a functioning hamper on the lot, so clearly it doesn't recognize it fully. I can click and drag the clothes into the hamper and then get the options "move to washer" and "search pockets" which work properly. Basically, I'm trying to figure out why the automatic functions of the hamper do not work even if they do manually. Obviously having to manually move the clothes is a bit of a hassle. I went back and checked the object definitions and everything looks correct. Would love a nudge in the direction of how to potentially fix this, as I'd like to do it to other objects as well! Thank you.

You may also need to import the footprint binary from a laundry day hamper. Export it as a binary (not batch export) then import into your BG hamper. Another thing is go into the object catalogue entry and check the tags resource. Add any tags that cannot be found in the studio tab manually by finding them in the dropdown menu (I had to do this with kitchens when toddlers were added as I experienced similar issues to what you are describing). It is handy having 2 instances of S4S open side-by-side doing this. Repeat for all catalogue entries.
Hopefully that solves the issue. The function tags are really important to get an object to work as intended and has been the source of many issues after patches. Hopefully its the same issue here and should be easy (although a little tedious) to rectify.
