Hey, I try to do cropped ears for dogs but I totally failed. x_x I tried the boolean effect but the ear just disappeared. I tried to sculpt the ear but this also wasn't what I wanted. Also when I tried delete a few parts of the ear. May someone can help to get this done?

Hi, welcome to the forum. I'm not really sure exactly how you're imagining the shape.. but i suggest using the knife tool to cut the mesh. With limit selection disabled in edit mode and "cut through" enabled (knife options). Check out this youtube tips video. Once it's cut, you can either create a face and then map it, or use extrude to create the inner part of the ear and then map it.

....please dont :( I know many people like the cropped look because it makes the dog look tougher, but unless you are fighting the dog(Please dont be fighting your dogs) there is no reason for it. Most breeds that have cropped ears have negative reputations that they are trying to beat and cropped ears do not help. Cropping of tails have some applications as it makes the dog (usually a hunting breed) easier to spot in the field, but still its mostly aesthetics. Dew Claw clipping has health applications as the are easily torn or broken. I know, I know, "It's just a game", but just like many fight for our sims to positively reflect all ethnic backgrounds and sexual preferences, Id like to see that maturity level reflect in our sim pets too. I fight this fight in real life as a rescuer of pit bulls and it makes my nauseous to think of our sim puppies to have to go through this (If youre ever bored, look up how they do the ear cropping). EA really scored points with me by making the Pit Bulls default trait "friendly", which is pretty spot on.
Sorry to go...off topic? but I really feel strongly about this and couldn't let it go without putting my 2 cents in. Many people dont know what the animals go through during ear cropping so I like to let people know.

Please excuse the inconvenience, I am also against the cropped ears because that makes no sense to me. But yes, it's a game and I thought it was okay SelaronoSims

I think it's always positive to voice what we believe in, as long as it doesn't hurt anybody else. I feel I'm pretty detached when replying any projects by now looking at them as simply meshes that need help with. unless it clearly nsfw, violent, degrading or too creepy. I didn't know ppl cut dog's ears, that's how little I know about the topic. my first thought was that maybe the user had an animal that had an accident so wanted to replicate that in game. am I too naive?thank you for sharing that information! I feel more knowledgeable about it.
