I can't understand why I'm getting these little black and grey dots. It's all really pixellated too, and I made sure to save it as a png, no compression. The canvas size is 1024x2048. I've even tried increasing the resolution to 500 instead of 300 and repainting and I'm still getting this. All I want is clean lines and no pixelation, how do I fix this? The text is vector transferred over from Illustrator so it really shouldn't be doing this.

Could you share the .package file please so someone can take a look? It could be many different things.

is the texture pixelated before you import to s4studio? or is s4studio causing the pixelation? If s4studio is making it pixelated, it's worth trying to export in DDS and then importing it into s4studio as when you import .pngs into s4studio, it compresses and converts them into .dds files- so doing the compression yourself beforehand may lead to less compression artifacts.

Read this thread about the difference in .png and .dds when importing textures. Regarding pixelization, it comes from texture. Studio has nothing to do with it. Even if you import your .png in Blender as texture, you will still see that pixelated edge. Make sure it looks smooth in photoshop. When you save in .dds use these parameters,

I don't have that option when I go to import textures and I have seen that post by delightfulsims, problem is, I'm on a mac. I don't have a windows photoshop, so if dds is not supported in candy apple, I can't really do any of these suggestions... I don't have that option, it won't let me select my DDS files.

Here is screenshot of import not allowing DDS to be selected Here is the top pure vector, no shading Here is the top, right out of photoshop, correct size but increased from 300 to 500 ppi Why can't I get clean lines? This is driving me crazy

Would it make more sense to try HQ size (2048x4096 px) instead of 1024x2048?

Well there is a problem with your process when creating the .dds as it doesn't show the extension on your screenshot. (although you screenshot doesn't show really that you cannot select the file with dds in the name or that it is greyed out)
Did you generate the mipmap as well? It's an extra pop up window that only appear the first time you save as dds when you have photoshop opened. I would recommend you to close photoshop and try again to save as .dds you should then get the mipmap pop up where you select also the type of compression.
If it works correctly you should see the extension .dds at the end of your file's name. otherwise it is not correct.

I had to manually add the .dds to the name of the file for some reason. It saved as a DDS but didn't accept until the extension was added to the name. I'm still getting pixellation in my image but it's much better...
--------------------------------- The pixellation is coming from the paintbrush, although I have the hardness, opacity, and flow at 100%, and when I select pixels of the EA texture to delete anything outside of it, it also pixellates. But the EA texture itself stays clean...perhaps I'll try HQ size...

Dunno, I extracted the text from the file you gave and repainted over it and didn't lose "quality" with the re-import (still quite pixelised but kinda normal considering the picture that was exported)

It's much better...although idk why it took HQ size canvas to paint straight lines without super jagged edges...weird Still not perfect but DDS definitely took some of the pixellation out.
