Thank you for pointing out the exact step where you got stuck. That helps a lot :D
Okay, so i'm seeing the blend and the modifier was added incorrectly. Not sure if it was due to changing the name. But what you have to do is simply go to the modifier tab, add "armature" and select the rig. Nothing else. Then select the rig meshgroup and rotate the leg bone. You'll see all your mesh will move along. That's how it will move in game so then you'll have to figure out how to paint it correctly so that it moves the way you want it to.
I think i would select only the weapons, separate them into another meshgroup ( press p and "selection") and fix the weight individually. Probably paint pelvis bone over them until you're satisfied with the outcome. Once you're done, join both meshgroups again.

EDIT: nevermind. I wrote a huge thing but I realized I was making a mistake, painting the weapons all blue. Instead they should be all red so that they do move when he moves. It's way better now. Still not perfect but an improvement. Do you think it would be better if I just painted the entire belt and weapons red? Cause so far it still has some strange clippings when he lifts his leg. Dunno if that can be fixed or not judging by how the mesh itself is. imageAnother last question too while I am here.. In the texture paint, sometimes when I color one part of the weapons (white silverish) parts of the (gray) belt get colored too. And viceversa. So it's not a perfect fill. Even separating the weapons and belt and using the fill brush this happens anyway. Do you maybe know why that could be? image^^"

umm sorry. I can't really suggest anything. this isn't an easy mesh to weight paint. so you'll have to do trial and error and see which bone would fit better.
again, we never touch texture paint. we work with vertex paint and weights.
