I have been at this for more than 2 weeks. In the mean time, I have created all the textures I need... but I have no earthly clue how to join "frankenmesh" these two things!
The Object: I am trying to use the "No Peepers" sign from Get Together as a base (the pole only) for a street sign. So, I went into blender and deleted the actual "sign" part from the pole. Saved.
Then... I opened another type of sign from the catalog which is a standalone wall sign (rectangle and perfect for a street sign) ... this is the part that I created like 32 textures that would be different "street" names.
Went into blender... in edit mode, I went to File-- Append -- found my "wall sign" and went into the Objects folder... selected the mesh... appended. Moved and scaled it to my liking.
Selected Mesh_1 (which is the pole minus the shadow -ground part) ... joined the two meshes together.... and that's where I get stuck.... probably did ALL that wrong... but there are just NOT any good tutorials for OBJECTS... only hair and clothing... I taught myself everything I do know from Youtube videos for clothes/hair meshing. Annnyways...
When I join the objects... try to import.. says something like... your mesh has bones that aren't in the original mesh or something like that.... BUT when I undo that action and leave them as separate meshes... all that shows up is the pole without the sign. AGGH.
I'm sure to experienced meshers--- this seems like a baby silly problem... but I just can't figure it out.
I'm begging anyone to give me their suggestions as to what the heck I am doing wrong... and I'm even up for like collab-ing if it's like being a magician and you don't want to reveal your secrets... because that's how I feel now.... like there is some magical Blender genius club... and I'm just a spectator going "ooooohhh" "aaaaahhh"
