The object comes from the SP05 installment (Master Suite). I was extracting patterns from TSRW (EA patterns from TS3). When I noticed some things from the game that I would want in TS4 that we don't have. I thought well this would be simple enough. So, I went to pull it up by cloning it. There was NO texture information at all on any of the master suite items, but I could export the mesh. I did. I then went into S3OC to pull out the pack file. I went into S3PE to pull out the texture images I would need. I found the Sunflowers table top vase it is in a galvanized can. I thought easy enough. I extracted the mesh. Went into blender. The TS3 mesh has three groups...guess what? NO UV map...because the textures weren't in TSRW. So, I then imported it through the TS3 .pack file. Same thing...no UV map. I don't mind creating the uv map; however, it would have been so much easier to already have it available. I will say this...I really don't know how to do a UV map on plants. I would be able to on the vase. When I did do the conversion, before I found out the above, TS3 item took on the uvmap of the TS4 item. That was weird to see in S4S. Has anyone else noticed this? Is it normal for a TS3 object to not have a uvmap let alone a whole pack installation? And why the hell do I always pick the most difficult items to convert? I am still having issues with the Trident fountain. Ugh! Just wondering and leaving this post open for discussion. I am curious to see what you all know about this and what you would do... or not do.

For an object to appear correctly and have a texture in the game it has to have a UV map. I looked at the object you're asking about and it does indeed have a texture. Since it is a non-recolorable object in S3, the texture is attached to the mesh itself. If you export as an .obj you should get all 3 mesh parts with respective UV maps on the shadow plane (cut 1) and flowers (cut 3). See image below.

brujah That is very interesting. Because I joined the two groups. But I first took the group 1 uvmap off of the graph. Then I joined the two groups. Then I scaled the group 2 map so that group 1 could go on the graph. I rearranged the map a bit to get everything on there. There, I will be going into gimp to make the appropriate texture changes. Sorry, that I didn't answer this post earlier. I trying to figure out why the map wasn't showing up. But it is interesting how you got the one to show up in the pic you posted. Another question: I don't know that much about glass objects. How would I make that vase be transparent? I also converted the TS3 Store wares cart. To jugs are transparent "glass" green and one jug in a wicker basket...the top of the jug is protruded and is glass as well. Those are specific areas that are transparent. Is there a tutorial already made on transparency in this regard here? or do I need to go off site to find out how to do this? Just wondering because in S4S the objects are not transparent because the converted items used don't have glass. Like the flower cart that is basegame and the sunshine table vase basegame as well. Thanks again for answering may be you or someone else can help with this.

What did you use as your base S4 object? I would recommend using an object that already has glass, like the antique typewriter (0000000000006E4E) or stolen necklace display (0000000000007121). After that you can follow THIS tutorial to add transparency to the flowers mesh.

TS3 Share your Wares Carry Cart TS4 Caress Wheel Barrench I thought because both of them were carts then I should use the one in TS4 for the conversion. It never occurred to me to use a vase bouquet to do a conversion for a cart. I thought that I would have to do something in blender to make the vessels that are glass in the TS3 cart and make them glass there or to find something in the warehouse that will make them transparent or something. I didn't know that I could use a different item. But in doing this then I need to use another tut that will keep the bench from snapping to surface slots. As for the TS3 vase, I see what you are talking about. I will try that. Thank you brujah . You have given me something to think on.

When it comes to the advice of finding a base object as close to what you are making to use as a base, it is best to find an object that has the *properties* that are as close to what you are after rather than the actual shape. So since you will need to have glass on your converted object, it is best to find an object in TS4 that already has glass, such as the ones suggested by brujah. I can't find it right now but there is a tutorial available here that explains how to make table decorations behave as floor decorations instead.

OM made that tut menaceman44. I have it written down some where. Can you do me a favor? I promise it won't hurt. It is at this post.I am about to put up images right now. I got the fountain part to work with lots of frustration, but the fish are pouring out the water...I just can't figure out why the texture is acting crazy on the bottom of the pool of the fountain! ugh.
