Okay so I took some time off from this mod but came back to it. Yes, I played through it. Here is whats happening. In the beginning its fun, when you don't know that many spells the chances of getting a new spell is high so you enjoy it more. However, once I reached level 10 and learned some spells, the chances of learning a new spell is slim. Here is where I say this "feels like work". Repeat spells are tedious, for my experience with this mod (And others that have complained about the same thing) is that repeat spell take away the fun in this mod. Imagine getting the "same spell" over and over and not getting any newer ones. This is where it gets tedious. Lastly, if you see that people are having issues and have heard more than one complaint about this then the issue is significant. Yes, there are others that don't mind the grind. Yes, there are others that see the mod being fun as it is. Good for them. I am happy they are enjoying it. However, for other like myself that want to love the mod and want to love it just as much as everyone else. Please consider this: Post the step by step instructions on how to use the mod (I still haven't figured out my ultimate form) so we get a clear idea of what to do and can give some good feedback based of that and our experience with the mod. You can post it here in the thead if you want. Remove repeat spells, that way it becomes less tedious and more to the point in learning spells to make it more enjoyable. Or make each spell have its own ley crystal so for people that want to learn a specific spell right away can debug that crystal. I am not here to discredit what you have done. You have people here that support you for a long time and don't want you to feel like you are not doing enough. Guess what, I have been one of those people too. I barely post because I was a nursing student and didn't have time, however, I love the mod from the very beginning from the first day it was announced. So believe me when I say I am here to support you by giving you honest feedback from MY experience with the mod. Take care.
hey i love this mod but recently it has been breaking my game. i get last exception notices on a loop and continuously, i would say one or two every second. The mod isn't conflicting with anything it just wont work in my game, even when i leave it as the only one running. Is anyone else having this problem? Some help will really be appreciated. also the glitch always starts when im in buildmode and just placing any item in general.
I'm running into a small problem with the mod and wondering if anyone else has run into this issue before?
Whenever I place the crystals in the ley basin and begin to study - I can only get about halfway through the action before my sim just abandons the task like it never existed. No progress is saved, it just gets dumped out of her tasks and nothing ever gets learned.
I've had limited success with trying to read another book or eat while studying but again - the first action usually finishes before the whole crystal is 'studied'.
I'm completely unable to learn spells :(
I've turned off autonomy, re-installed the mod several times. I've searched through here but if someone else had this problem I didn't see it. Any advice??

I had elf ears and had to remove the night elf earings, took me ages to figure out what was causing it.. Love sims try importer I would reccomend.
I would also love it if you coud get different spells each time, I had the same spell 5 times in a row, or perhaps go to a magic shop and buy secret tombs..! Also can it be confirmed it has been updated for the new Python script, have not noticed any major problems yet and realise it is early days and not an easy task.
I`m sorry but the mod does not work for me since update 13-11-18. Like another member here posted I get last exception notices continuously, too. Also have problems with the elf ears, maybe because I use the "Fairy Mod" by Nyx. So I had to remove the ears from this mod. For info: I play with the latest version of MC command center and this mod shows the last exception errors.
I had to uninstall your mod and hope that the creator will find a solution to make an update. This mod is really awesome and I hope for help.

Here to give a small update for AOM . 1st, NO the mod has not been updated yet. but the awaited list of spells & ( other information for you )has been added to the AOM thread! These spells already exist within the mod version you have now, some of these are noticeable some are not but you have been getting effects of them and didn't know! and some of you may or may not be aware of all of the spells or have reached your highest skills to use them but they are there and now, you can study them , memorize them , get familiar with them, until the update for the latest patch is done
Everyone has been wanting to know what the Ultimate Forms represent and what they do. we can now tell you.. those annoying ears you have in your game 'once' did have a purpose.
Ultimate Forms: There will be 4 Ultimate forms (life states) for the player to chose from based on the (not made) level based traits and skills the sim gains over time. depending what you want your sim to learn is what your Ultimate form could be. this is why some sims have the elf ears and some dont. they have learned traits that unlocked the arcane elf ultimate form. even if they don't know it. some UF will have hidden hereditary traits ONLY allowed for that sim and it's bloodline. there will also be bloodline based traits as well. (we've had this planned for some time now. its kindaaaaaaa deep. this is why our mod will not be "cheaty" )
litch ( Arch Vampire & Underworld types ) - immune to death so long as theyre phylactery holds, never need to eat sleep feed or go to the toilet , never age, infinite mana. litches unable to woohoo. think of it as Grim Reapers Heritage . The UnderFolk. Arcane elf ( annoying elf ear physical traits) - Infinite mana, never age, never die (bonus over the litch is it isnt tied to a phylactory) arcane elves the ability to meditate for energy instead of sleep kid of like a revelry, and also they can learn all skills faster, and they can always produce good quality works and sing very well. this will balance them well with the wyrd walkers wyrd walker - Plantsim. Earth creatures. Nature's Guardians. plantsim based magic, interactions and lifestyle, can send forth swarms of bees, has a bonus to creature relationships, never age, never die, infinite mana
But! far as cosmetics and the fact that cc allows you to make your sims however you want, the arcane ears and other cosmetics will be removed with the next update. anything physically altering we will make 100% optional or have a toggle available.
Spellbooks. Spell tomes. - basically when you study mana matrices, it will also add a spell book to your inventory. Books that work like the ley crystals to teach sims spells in half the time, they are made by sims that know the spells. with these spell books you are able to earn what other Mage's learned before you without spending hours and weeks at the Magic Ley Energy Basin summoning crystals. If you are the first mage to study magic in your game, you will have to study mana before the spell tomes appear in your inventory. After, you should be able to advance your spell studies. you can sell these spell tomes & place them in your bookshelves. always a good idea to sell a few, you will have plenty of them to spare afterwhile anyway. (This system for AOM could & will possibly change in the future) note: NOT ALL SPELLS HAVE BEEN ADDED TO THE SPELL TOMES. CONTINUE TO DRAW LEY ENERGY FOR ADVANCEMENT IN MAGIC LEVELS..to be safe.
also! There are fresh new interaction and buff icons...can you guess what they will be for?
sorry for the lack of updates. I'm the only one working on the mod currently and there is ALOT to be done, and I do not alot of skill + time as I would like for maintenance. I will get to your questions soon . hopefully this bit of information can hold you until then tc

olifante1987 thank you! we are also a big fan for triplis mods , and we try to make sure ours is compatible with it...for now a debug mode cheats is not possible , thank you for the ideas! i hope alot of people find those helpful
blueboi22 - we are not at all upset with your dissatisfaction, there are 100s others to consider as well as our own procedures of how we will go about adjusting and adding to the mod. however, we respect opinions of others here, & we won't be taking suggestions from users who do not have intentions to play with our mod...so we look forward to not seeing your posts in our thread anymore, but i do hope you find joy in playing the sorcerer mod! triplis a well respected modder. we love his work here at AOM
nkamran3312 we won't be making individual crystals for individual spells. that will be one system only. spells are not divided by crystals crystals are a source of mana energy, which is required for spells. and again for now, a debug mode cheat is not possible. we won't be removing repeat spells for the sake of gameplay. each version of each spell is different in its own way. there are too many spells in the mod currently for such a change. plus we still want users who need to use the spell more than once to still be able to do so, even by command. what "Feels like work" sounds like lack of guidance on what to do next. so once the guide for getting started is posted via the mod thread, things should be alot more clearer for everyone. there is more to do besides collecting crystals & drawing ley energy even though they do play a major part of the gameplay. if you have reached level 10 im assuming that is one for the first level of mastery..apprentice . we have just updated a list of all spells for each level . give that a look in the main mod thread! each level has to be unlocked by its previous one. so if you are getting repeated crystals and not advancing you havent learned all the spells in your level yet silly. there is more than one way to do a few things & if you havent been playing from the beginning of this mod since its first release, you are probably not familiar with it..it covers small details in depth to help with those things the founder of this mod had intended for it to be. i can suggest searching through the old threads to get familiar with the basics. (im not sure if they are still up but give those a gander) we havent posted a full guide yet, its alot to put into words at the moment but it is coming in the near future
fraanmuschella it could be possible , but not certain. we don't focus on the cliche "witches" theme here. we have a more expanded range of magic , including dark arts, Wiccan , druid , naturism, spiritual ..etc. a wand is a big maybe , a staff, & a crystal ball & magical summoning artifacts are also big maybes.
mickleelsaizme check previous about the script mods update for November 14th patch. but thank you for the bug report , we will look into it, if we find anything, we will fix it in the next update and report when it is updated

Hi! Love the work and effort you are putting into this amazing mod! I just wanted to ask if the upcoming update you are currently working on would require any expansion packs other than the Seasons EP, Vampires EP and Spa day EP Thank you and great job on the mod!

I'm in love with your mod. I may have only had it for a few days before the November patch but it's already one of my favs. My gen 2 legacy successor was at level 9 (literally just a smidge below max) and became the breadwinner of the family just from the conjure metal spell. My legacy family in general was just the cutest bunch ever, an outcast faerie and Jade Rosa fell in love during one of the fae's rare journeys into town. After getting married and living together in perfect harmony for a while, they started to realize that something was missing, so they adopted a little girl who filled their lives with more joy and love than they'd ever experienced. She did, however, give them a slight baby fever, so they adopted some "twin" babies and for the first time that I've ever seen, a child was actually happy to get a new sibling. She became besties with Lucas Munch (and since I use LMS's First Love mod, they became childhood crushes that started dating as soon as they were teenagers) and now they're promised to one another. However, she always looked up to her faerie mom and was always a little upset that she wasn't one herself, so she decided to pick up witchcraft because close enough, right? Except this is where it ends because I can't play my legacy save until this mod is updated. It's the only one I'm still waiting on and it sucks because it's like the only required script mod for this save.
I just wanna know if there's an estimated time frame it'll take to be able to go back to my adorable lesbian lovers and their perfect, adorable children... I miss them :(
Hi, everyone! Just registered to say a few things to this mod's dev-team:
1) Guys, seriously - check your grammar. I understand that you're not native english speakers (where are you from, btw?), but some mistakes are tedious, like spells named "BlossEm", for quick example. Not to mention that frontpage of a mod is a huge mess, spells section uses internal names and so on. Sure, no big deal, yet its simply anoying.
2) Mod DESPERATELY needs some guidance. I had to look for tutorials on it all over the web just to get started, and there are still things that NOONE seems to know, like: what "drawing energy from ether" does, do crystals have any other use aside from learning a single spell from them, what magic tomes are for (since you learn spells from crystals and book are just... like... copies of them? That cost twice more than original crystal? oO) and so.
3) As much as I hate to write it... GRIND IS HUGE AND HORRIBLE. While this is a part of the mod I can deal with, I can clearly see why others aren't so happy about it. The game itself already has enough of rng-based moments (completing collections is a chore to say, no?), and with mechanics you have now, this mod practicly adds insult to injury by forcing players in yet another chore, this time with lei basin. Kinda not good.
Now for the problems that aren't design flaws:
1) Spells that don't work and generate errors instead: timewarp, conjure metal, conjure crystal, athletise (both self and other sim versions)
2) When sim studies a crystal, if you command him\her to put the crystal in inventory, he\she will do so right away without intterupting study-action, the result being an error and non-working Timewarp spell tome in inventory (even when removed crystal wasn't one of timewarp)
3) "Draw energy from ether" action on lei basin does nothing (as far as I can tell) aside from playing some nice animation
4) Attept to place Timewarp crystal anywhere in the world generates error (but crystal will be placed as it should)
5) All crystals generate Energized aura that can't be turned off. Sure useful for athletes and bodybuilders, but for mages...? Oo
Ok, looks like that's all I have to say for now. The mod is AWESOME, don't get me wrong, I love playing it, and that the exact motive of me writing all this stuff above - so that you can fix it where it broke and make it even better where it's possible. Peace!
