Update: This issue was adressed and fixed in newer sims4studio versions
Hey! I'm running into an issue lately and am wondering whether I overlook something. Any help is appreciated!
I batch export diffuse and shadow maps to convert them for HQ. My work flow is as follows: batch export textures, resize them to 2048x4096, batch import them back. Specular maps are converted separately.
This worked quite well for most items as I literally converted thousands of files already, but lately it happened that the batch export resulted in a .package file instead of a series of RLE2.image.dds files. It does not seem to be dependent on the item since once it happens, all following items will have the same issue. The last time it magically worked fine again after a while, but now even restarting my computer did not solve the issue. I usually have the game running in parallel but it also exports as .package even when S4S is the first and only program to run after a windows restart.
I'm using Sims4Studio 3.1.2.1 (Wishes)
I know about the exportall cheat code, but that would require importing the textures one by one after resizing which could get quite time consuming.
since it worked fine before, I'm assuming a mistake on my end. Any ideas?

You need to be sure you choose the "save as" type that you want (one option is .package). Also, please see THIS POST HERE (you may be interested). If you go the latter route, please keep in mind that this is an alpha feature.

orangemittens Thank you! I did pay attention to the type, it was my very first guess that I chose package by accident, so I tried both options and both resulted in .package. However, it might be that I accidentally chose .package once and then it didn't allow anything else anymore. In the end, only reinstalling S4S solved the issue. I can't really tell what caused the problem in the first place though but now everything is working as it should again! Sims4studio is simply amazing!

I just ran into the same issue and indeed, as soon as you accidentally choose Package once, it will export as package everytime.

I see your point - my test gave the same result. This issue will be fixed in an upcoming version of Studio.

Was this fixed?
I am using Sims 4 Studio 3.1.2.4 (Wishes) and when I select all the RLE2 files in the Warehouse then batch export, I can only save as a .binary or .package file. If I select all the RLE2 files in the Warehouse then export, I can only save as .png or .dds file but either one of these I choose, it exports as a .RLEImage. Is this a file type I can use in Photoshop (like Remussirion) to batch export the textures for HQ resizing then import back in?

I got it to work but I had to rename all of the .RLEImage filetypes to .PNG - then they are ready for conversion. However the next issue is if there are multiple .RLEImage files exported, then you have to rename each one individually to the .PNG filetype extension, which takes forever. Since I don't want to change the file Name, only the file Type, you can do this in command prompt console in windows 10. It will batch run the filetype change for all the files in the folder without changing the file name, which is important if you want to 'Batch Import' them back in after hq size conversion. *export all of the textures you want to convert to hq into ONE folder (with nothing else in it). *(Right-click + Shift) on the FOLDER, then click 'open Command Prompt here'. ((If that doesn't open the Command Prompt, then open it from the taskbar and navigate (by using the 'cd\' change directory command) to your folder that has all the .RLEImage files.)) *when in the folder, in command prompt, type in: REN *.RLE2IMAGE *.PNG *Press ENTER *check the folder, all of the files are now .PNG instead of .RLEImage Yay! *then convert all the .png files to the correct size (i use remussirion's Photoshop batch automation for hq) *batch import in S4studio, save package - Done! Good Luck

I am using 3.1.2.4 and the batch export does export as RLEimage.dds (the issue adressed in the original post was fixed in the meantime). You can resize RLEimage.dds directly, all you need is a dds plugin for photoshop
