It might be the snowmap that allows the game to know where to place snow effects if the sink is outside. If you share the .package where you found this I can search for the instance and let you know what it is.

I've checked in the files, it is indeed the snowmap. If you don't want to have the effects it offers just make it fully black. Also notice some people had some issues with this particular clone in the past. Read here if you have issues with shadows later on.

I think that is to do with the shaders. Counters use a seperate shader setting to other objects so that light reflects across them without any lines where the mesh edges meet when you sit two next to each other. I can't actually check right now because I'm having computer issues but it may be worth setting the sink shader to a counter one and see if that makes any positive difference.
EDIT: I finally managed to get studio to open so I could look at this. Do you plan on adding any shadows and highlights to your textures? They only have solid colours right now and this makes the mesh look very flat. I can't look any deeper than that right now as I have to head off to work.
