I have been having a hard time trying to figure out how to separate a mattress from it's frame. I followed an online tutorial from the simscommunity.info but that doesn't really seem to help. I thought I had it figured out, when I tested the final package file in my game that came up as the separated mattress, but now i can't duplicate the results to finish the other beds (even when I follow the tutorial) can anyone help?

Hi midnitehearts welcome to Sims 4 Studio forums! I assume you have at least two bed packages, the one that's working as you expect and another one that's not? If this is the case, could you post a link to the packages? Also if it's the case what happens if you take your original bed out of your mods folder and leave additional bed in place? If removing the original bed package allows other bed to work then you might have tunings or other data duplicated between the packages.

Honestly, the whole process was just driving me crazy, I scrapped the whole idea. If anything I would just like a simple step by step to remove a mattress from its frame, so I can have the mattress by itself.

Have you tried just recoloring the Airkushn bed from the outdoor pack? It's basically a mattress without the frame?

Hi midnitehearts, there are already various separated mattresses available for Sims 4. Is there any reason not to use one of those for your project? What is your ultimate goal?

Yes, I'm familiar with other separated mattresses, I use them all the time in my game, but I really like the swatches on the ones I've been trying to work with, it's just that I hate the bed frame that only comes in only one color; black. So I was hoping there would be some simple tutorial that I could follow to remove the bed frame, and only have the mattress left.

Making a recolor is easier than separating a mattress, and since other people have already gone to the effort of separating mattresses, it seems a bit like rebuilding the wheel to struggle through that. There is a tutorial showing how to recolor a custom content item HERE. If you decided to use the Airkushn as Sparkiemonkey suggested, you could follow the tutorial showing how to recolor an EA item HERE. If the swatches you want to use are already inside of another package, you can export them from that package, and then import them into the mattress package you made after following one of the linked tutorials. Please note that all mattresses do not use the same basic layout. You will need to choose a mattress that has the same layout as the one from which you are exporting textures.

Does any of this make a difference if the mattresses I'm trying to separate are cc beds? Is it even possible to separate the mattress of a cc bed.
