I'm trying to make a very simple recolour so that my rose does not look the same as a bluebell. I'm reading the tutorials and it's all just going way over my head. I understand there should be a texture file or two - but the plant has multiple transparent layers, some of which only show in the warehouse. Next there's some confusing lines of color. And then I have no idea how to tell the bump map from the spec map.
Plus some more advanced ones on making an entirely new plants that made me feel like I was at the bottom of the Marina trench,
And I'm still completely flippin lost. I know that there's a texture file and the bump map goes over it to add shading and the spec map goes over it to show where objects are shiny. All of these are mapped to a mesh which is the 3D model that the colours go on. That's it, that's all I got.
My questions:
Is there a post seasons tutorial on how to edit plants? For really sleep deprived people maybe?
Is there a post seasons tutorial on how to edit plants? For really sleep deprived people maybe?
How do I know which is the bump map and which is the spec map?
Why are the plant textures transparent when say, couch textures are solid?
What are the lines of colour for?
Can I just use blank spec and bump maps to begin with to make my life easier?
Does anyone else have a mod that makes bluebell plants actually look like bluebells so I can play while I figure this ish out?
