Good afternoon everyone. I'm not sure if I'm the only one experiencing this issue but literally every single piece of build/buy CC in my game (my cc and cc created by others) are showing up with the name **DEBUG**. Is there a way I can quickly fix this with S4S? Or do I have to wait for another patch? Thank you in advance!

You're not the only one...I'm hoping they can come up with a batch fix.

The issue has been reported to EA. As the problem involves the breaking of anything made using code conventions they told the community to use, we are waiting to see if they will fix this on their end. If they won't, we can batch fix. We don't want to batch fix if they will fix it because then when they fix it everyone would need an un-batch fix to reverse batch fixed items. This is not the first time everything has been broken by a patch that messed up things using the conventions they told us to use, and in the past, they have always fixed the mess caused by their coders forgetting that we are using a different convention than they use (as they instructed us to do) and breaking everything.

Thank You, orangemittens, for reporting this to the team @ EA. I absolutely LOVE how perfectly you seasoned your report to them with the tiniest bit of salt!!! Cheers!

menaceman44, it is not true that EA is suggesting that going forward people should use a new convention. What you are calling a new convention is the convention that EA has always used. Their best practice for mods and CC was, and still is, that people should use the number we have been using all along at their instruction. The fact that CC and mods are currently broken because we are using a different number was a mistake that EA has owned and will fix. Please read more HERE.

Thank you orangemittens for putting me right on that matter. I realised later on that what I thought I had understood was not in fact correct. I did not actually know what the "top bit" referred to and had assumed wrongly based on how the post was worded.

No worries, when I saw the post you referred to, I knew that a lot of people would be confused by it. Players and creators should not need to know computer jargon like "high bit" or "top bit" to understand EA's preferred method for preparing things for the game. I've commented to that effect there, and hopefully, they will make their point a bit more clearly. Given that they probably won't, all we can do is spread the news at Sim sites.

EA just patched, and they've stated this should fix the problem.

Thank you, Orangemittens! Will there be an update to S4S as well?
