I want to use Sims studio. I have 2.79 for blender I understood I need 2.70 verision that was fine for me to install. There Sims it doesn't recognize that I do have 2.70, and no option to export for what I'm exporting to. I shouldn't have to uninstall 2.79.

Hi. Blender releases new versions of software quite often. It is more reasonable for The Sims 4 Studio developers to focus on adding new features than on adapting the program to every new version of Blender. On the download page it says that The Sims 4 Studio supports only Blender 2.70 and 2.76. However, I use 2.78 and it works fine. If you plan to make CAS items, you only need 2.78 version ( it has a feature for transferring UV maps that is used for making uv_1 map ). You may have seen people use 2.70 to transfer weights and vertex paint, but it is just done differently in 2.70. How to transfer weights in Blender 2.78;
Also make sure to set up the right pass for Blender
So yes, you have to uninstall your current version
