When i download cc to my MAC, it doesn't work because when i go to downloads it tells me: Adobe Acrobat Reader DC could not open 'Tankuz TS4 Abigail Lenses.package' because it is either not a supported file type or because the file has been damaged (for example, it was sent as an email attachment and wasn't correctly decoded). Can someone pls help?

What do you mean that doesn't work? That message seems to be caused because you are trying to open a .package file with a program that doesn't support it. To install your custom content you don't need to open it, it doesn't work like the as the Sims3pack did in The Sims 3. You need to place the file into Electronic Arts/The Sims 4/Mods in your Documents folder.

How you play the Sims shows what kind of person you are.

Oh my gosh, am i the only one with this problem?
I downloaded some CC and i created beautiful sims in CAS. All my downloaded things were there. But when i went to live mode, my sims didn't move. I can make them go different places (i mean, they can perform the walking part) and they can chat with each other but everything else will be canceled from their taskbar. As soon as they want to use the fridge or bed, bathroom etc, the actions will disappear. Also, all the CC are visible in the game also. I have tried reseting them, i have the laptop mode disabled and i have enabled CC but my sims still crash in play mode. Also, i have this Mod Conflict Detector and it shows me that all my CC's are fine. What should or can i do?

mariliiso,
It may be a script mod (a mod that controls sim actions, for example, as opposed to a piece of clothing, or wall paint, etc). If you have any of those (no mosaic, no goofy walk, no autonomous tv watching) - maybe take all of those out and then run your game. If it runs well, then you can go through those mods one-at-a-time to see what may not be working.
Unfortunately, some of those mods are orphaned after creation, and they break with new patches and updates. I hope this helps.

there's no program that does this out yet from what I remember so yeah you're gonna have to try a method of identifying the problem CC yourself. The most common way to do this is the 50/50 method. You take your downloads, move to a folder on the desk top and split them in half. Put half A in your game and run. If you get no crashes, you move to Half B. If you do get crashes you take half of that half and test with it and keep weeding down until you've gotten the problem file. There's some issues with this method because it doesn't cover incompatible mods and such, but it's a tried and true, though very tedious method. Also it does help to clean the Caches once in a while as those can become bad and cause game issues. :ModAlertMod Note: Moving into Sims 4 chat rather than General chat as this is game relative :ModAlert SaveSave

Has anyone tried the Mod Conflict Detector by DmitryMalfatto recently? A lot of comments on MTS are saying it has malware/viruses in it so I'm scared to download it.

the Mod Conflict Detector has issues working more than once. what i mean is when i download it use the exe the program works fine but when you close it and try to open it it gives all kinds of errors for me saying it wont work unless its updated and then there is no updated version for it. I only use it once in a while but i have to redownload the exe everytime to do it. I usually only use it when i suspect i accidentally might downloaded a sims 2 or sims 3 file cause it finds those immediately . If you can get the program to work, its not bad to have , I have to use it in a weird way.

I agree with sammoyke, it sometimes seems I have to run it a few times before I get the results I want but it definitely has pin pointed the bad file.

I did some creative searching but DimitryMalfatto did update it past the one on MTS, www.dtblog.ru/en/node/7. I have adblocker on constantly, so I have no clue is this does any weird popups or anything, so tread lightly unless you have one installed, but it installed fine, no malware and the only error I get is when opening it to scan a directory and it whines that it cannot check for updates. Scumbumbo's just isn't available anymore, but figured I'd share in case anyone was still looking for a working link.

I have a slightly different problem with 2 bad custom content files. When I'm in CAS, there are 2 files that I have installed (one is a pair of jeans, and one is a blouse) where they turn the Sim either completely black or turn half of the Sim's skin black and make their eyes red. It's frightening, tbh. (Is this a prank some CC creators play, or is it a freaky glitch?) Normally I would be able to see this in the preview picture and just know not to click on it, but almost all of the custom content now defaults to a picture of the alien outfit so I have to click on everything to see what it is. Anyway, I don't know how to figure out which files these are in order to delete from my Mods folder. Does anyone have a way to do this besides the previously mentioned 50/50? I'll probably end up trying that, but I figured I'd throw it out there to see if anyone else got this issue with their custom content and maybe just knew which files they were. Look at the websites those came from. Maybe it needs a mesh or add-on.

There is a mod conflict detector on ModTheSims by DmitryMalfatto, it will go through your mods folder and will find any issue that may be there. I use this when I can't quite find out what is causing the problem. The program will tell you not only what is causing the issue but what the issue is.
