hello! I'm fairly new to creating custom content. Decided I'd start with recolours. I successfully created unnatural hair colours for children that matched the adult unnatural hair colours and enabled them to be genetic. You can see those here. With that success, I decided to do some clothing recolours. I wanted to make Sailor Moon t-shirts but the t-shirt I made as a test looks blurry in-game close up. I tried it a few times with the same result. It's confusing because the original image I used for the t-shirt stencil is large and high quality. I was hoping I could get some suggestions on how to fix this. I'm using Paint.net to recolour the t-shirts. Original image: T-Shirt:

Hi ashleighanne, welcome to Studio forums. I think the problem is occurring during the process of shrinking an image that is over 900 pixels wide down to an image that is less than 100 pixels wide. The solution is probably going to lie in starting out with an image that is smaller than this one is.
Alternatively you could try doubling the size of the diffuse image. I'm not sure how much that will help though.

Thanks for the quick reply! I think Photoshop has tools to eliminate losing image quality upon resizing and I do also have Photoshop so I think I'll try that first before trying to find a new image since I do really like this one.

I know many people who create hairs double the size of the diffuse because it gives an incremental benefit to the image's clarity in game. That might help also although, like I said, I'm not sure it would help enough.

The original stencils I used for my MLP tshirts from my tutorial (link in my sig) are around 2300x2800. I resampled them down to 480x480 px at 300 ppi 32bit depth then scaled that image down to fit on the shirt. Try that and see if it works for you.
