I was pointed here by a creator because they didnt update mods anymore. I was wondering if anyone could point me towards a guide to learn how to update CAS mods. Ive quickly went through the tutorials but didnt see anything similar to my problem. I'm not quite sure whats wrong with it either.
Its the pants that are outdated and making the weird shiny texture.

It looks like a specular map issue. You could try opening the file with S4S and just making the specular blank to delete it. There's a button for that, though I would export the map first and save a copy of it in case the problem really is the spec map and you want to fix it for real. Usually I find that really subtle specular or normal maps can be removed without significantly affecting the appearance of the item, but that probably depends on your preferences. This tutorial is probably relevant: sims4studio.com/thread/1722/tutorial-basic-guide-specular-editingDo you have a link to the pants? Maybe I should look at it before I say anything.

I found some information about this issue. It's apparently a bug introduced by EA and you can fix it easily by changing your graphics settings. sims4studio.com/thread/17712/help-fix-bugAccording to comments on this video, changing your graphics to low or very high will solve the problem, but medium or high will keep the shine. You can also try laptop mode. I gave the pants a brief look but didn't see anything weird that might be causing the problem...! Since EA introduced the bug, I assume something happened on their end and it will eventually be patched. Sorry I couldn't help more!

oof. Its such a strange bug because it only affects specific clothing. Thanks for taking the time to help though.
Edit: The workaround you said does the trick but only for ingame models. Portraits still messed up.

I think you should be able to delete your localthumbscache.package in Documents/Electronic Arts/The Sims 4 to force the game to regenerate the portrait images in that case.
