I've owned TS4 for years, but I never noticed that if a child dies, then is re-added to the family as a ghost, they still have to go to school. I'm fine with this and I don't mind it, but my sim seems to be glitched. When they come home from school, I get a notice that they did very poorly and need to do better. The performance tab shows the child is doing "good," although they have an F. I make them do their homework every day. Still, they're always failing. One time (which I didn't save), the child got taken away for having bad grades, and it'll probably happen again. I can't seem to make them better no matter what I do. Below is a picture of it. Does this ever happen to you? imgur.com/QhJ508FI'm about ready to see if the "no school mod" still works and if it'll work on ghosts. It seems really silly that ghosts have to go to school, and that they're destined to always fail. It's even more silly to have them taken away

Ah so that's what happening! Sounds totally ridiculous to me. I mean they are dead there shouldn't be anything left bad to happen to them , it's all already been done. But EA programmers thought, no let these children continue to suffer... My guess is that they are not coded to be able to do anything much as a ghost but are still showing as a child so the programming continues to enforce the child rules. Maybe it's been overlooked, adults don't have the same restraints as children so they can function as ghost just fine. Could be the ghost kids need new rules for behaviour.
I agree they should not be taken away, happy healthy kids and ghost kids with skills should not be taken from families just because totally pointless grades have not been met in a rabbit hole school.

Haha yeah. There is no reason for them to have to go to school. Maybe it is just something that EA programmers overlooked and didn't think would make a difference to code differently. It's really silly though, and there's nothing I can do to keep the child from being taken away. Her performance can't get better and she's destined to be removed from the home. On further thought, that might not be intentional on EA's part.
The only thing I can think of as to why her performance doesn't improve is a result of the cause of death. She died by freezing, and maybe that comes with a glitch that makes it impossible to do better in school? I'd have to test that by killing sims with other methods. Or maybe it's a glitch exclusive to my sim. I don't know.

I wonder if coolspearcould fix this? I know he doesn't take request mods any more but he has a mod that prevents the social worker taking babies, he says that its only two lines of code. Might be its the same for kids?

Yeah maybe. I wouldn't know about coding or how to contact coolspear. I tried to run a test by killing sims with different methods, but it takes a long time to do that so I gave up trying. One thing I did notice was that when I used an instant death cheat (freeze to death), my sims reacted to having the ghost around. So that element of the game is still there, and it just didn't happen for my other family. Not sure why that is.
Maybe instead of shift-clicking and adding a ghost to the family (which is what I did the first time), it might be better to become good friends with the ghost and invite them to live with you. I think that's what needs to be done for it to work properly. Can't really blame the game for that, if that's the case. Cheats aren't perfect.
