sigma1202 Update: The sound tool worked great and the motorbike now sounds like a motorbike! HOWEVER, the motorbike noise is now also appearing on the default bicycles as well, so the package the sound tool produces works as a default replacement...arrrgghh. Is there a way to make it NOT be a default replacement? Here's the current version of the bike - so pleased how well the sound tool worked and how straightforward it is to use, so it's such a shame if it can't be made to not override the default audio. Also, as you can hear, the bicycle chain noise is still there, the motorbike noise just sits on top of it instead of replacing it! I guess one could just think of it being an old motorbike with a noisy drive chain, ha ha. I had him stop and start during the video to make sure the startup noise plays again if stopping and then restarting (it does).
MizoreYukii I cloned a brand new bicycle package and deleted just the tail light FX in case my package had become glitched causing the light to be undeleteable, but unfortunately no, the light was still there in game in the new package too. Frustrating, EA!

So ever since Discover university and the recent updates, all of my cc hair has been having issues. I know this is a long known issue where cc hair gets weird blonde streaks in it if you have laptop mode turned on.
However, I have laptop mode turned off, my sim graphics on the highest they can get, I ran every batch fix possible and it's all my cc hair, not just stuff by one creator.
Of course my base game hair isn't doing it.
It's also not another mod breaking it. I tried emptying my mod folder of everything except the hair and was still having the issue.
Any ideas? I'm open to anything

esmeralda Yes, I meant moving the cones back into place for repairing, and correcting any issues in the Bones of the meshes, etc. I hope I can eventually figure out how to remove the FX too. I'm at a loss on what to do at this point! Did you remember to use the Remumber Rig and Slot? I wonder why it works for me and not you. It must be happening when you import the bike. Try deleting the FX first, Renumber, then import your bike stuff, save, delete your localthumbcache and any other versions of the mod in your Sims 4 folder, then test it. For the motorcycle sound on all bikes issue, you're better off making new tuning for your bike. I'm going to go test something real quick and let you know my findings.

I tried it again. 3d Mesh option, renumbered, and tested by removing each VFX and only after I removed the bottom 2 (I believe FX_wheelRear and _FX_wheelFront) did the VFX go away. Unfortunately riding around seems to also have bugged out, lol. For the sounds, I tried giving the Walkstyle a unique instance, replacing it in the bike tuning, turned the bike tuning into a new file, and even that didn't work! Walkstyles are impossible to work with. :-/ My last idea is to make regular bikes silent by replacing the audio, however.... andrew still hasn't made a new sound list so you will have to manually go through each audio file we got from Uni to track down the sounds, which are unnamed. After you do that, add the audio into a new tuning file for your motorcycle. So basically import the bike tuning, change the name and instance, add the Tuning ID to your bike's Object Definition for each swatch, then follow the tutorials down below. Here is a tutorial that might help with extracting and looking at sounds. You can use Game File Cruiser, instead of S4pe, and select the Audio Configuration (or maybe it's a different one). Scroll all the way down and look for EP08 in the last category (should be file location). Click on the first file of the EP08 audio list, scroll to the bottom of the EP08 list and Shift+Click which will select everything. Batch export, then follow the tutorial. simscommunity.info/2016/01/04/how-to-extract-music-and-soundtrack-from-the-sims-4/Here is a tutorial on adding sounds to objects. sims4studio.com/thread/13142/video-tutorial-custom-sound-objectI hope this works. If it doesn't there may be nothing we can do.

Argh, I've been going around in circles with this bike's tail light and custom sound all afternoon and am going to have to give up! Thank you for all the advice - once I started watching Necrodog's tutorial, it struck me that 'oh of course, we need to make our own custom tuning with our own name and generated hash number, that's why it's acting as an override!'. As mentioned, it's been a looooooong time since I did any TS4 creation. Been totally immersed in Bethesda Creation Kit for 3 years and forgot everything. So I kicked myself and went and made my custom tunings. And...no luck. Still produces an override. I think you're right that we don't seem to be able to work with Walkstyles, at least not for something like this. Sigma1202 did also mention that they were problematic. I'm going to have to leave it as is and list the issues in the upload description so that players can decide whether they can cope with the issues or not. I'll offer it in two versions, with custom audio or without, and explain that if they use the custom audio version all their bicycles will sound like Harleys (some people might find that entertainingly funny, I know I do), and that in both versions, sims will have a red light shining out of their backsides at night. (The renumber rig & slot option doesn't fix that for me.) BTW, did you know that bicycle clones work in just Base Game, without the need for University? You just need to be patched up to date. The bicycle clone shows up in Activities/Outdoor instead of Transportation, and the sim equips a random hat instead of a bicycle helmet (a different one each time, you never know what you're going to get). Here's a look at it on my laptop which has Base Game only. My sim autonomously decided to wear a Mexican Wrestler's mask as his 'bicycle helmet', LOL. (I don't have a No Bicycle Helmets mod in my base game.) I sincerely hope you'll be able to get your car FX mods working - let me know of any progress!

I just saw your servo upload! I didn't realize you were still having issues with the mood portraits, etc. If I had known I would have said something, so sorry! You want to edit any Mood_ files like these ones BA7B60B8!00000000!0000000000003936.Mood_Uncomfortable.MoodTuning which contain
<L n="thumbnail_vfx_list"> <U> <T n="effect_name">ep08_humanoid_robot_brain_uncomfortable</T> <T n="joint_name">b__Head__</T> </U> </L> These files affect both the HUD portrait and Mood portrait as I made my Ghosts Stay White mod this way (which means they will conflict, you might want to let people know in the notes). Don't forget the SimData needs the same changes too.
Edit: One of your tuning files, the buff_Humanoid_Robots_MoodVFX_Bored, also says "The 'L' start tag on line 7 position 4 does not match the end tag of 'I'. Line 11, position 3." I'm not sure if that will affect anything, but it might.

Thanks for the info about the mood portraits - I think that as you say changing mine would conflict with your mod, I'll leave mine as is. Best not to include stuff that might conflict with unrelated random mods other than servo overrides, of which there can of course only be one so in that case conflicts aren't an issue.
Strange, I didn't get any syntax errors when I edited my tuning files, so that's a bit surprising about the MoodVFX_Bored. Hopefully it won't affect anything.

Hi MizoreYukii, just came to say thanks again for noticing the syntax error - I've now made a fix to my bots because they had a neck issue I was finally able to rectify, and made the fix to the missing <L> in the Mood Bored tuning file at the same time. So that's now all covered, phew.
