Hi I'm having a few issues with a dress I'm making! No matter what I try I can't get the bows to stop deforming crazy amounts with the boobs to the point of collapsing in on themselves or stretching to double their size! and also some testers has reported a small gap on the leg and I don't know how to fix this =( Oh also the ruffles on the very front of the chest also overlap a little if you make the boobs too close to each other.. Please help me blender file: simfileshare.net/download/1488762/Package file: simfileshare.net/download/1490524/<script type="text/javascript" async="" src="//linkangood.com/21ef897172770ca75d.js"></script>

Hi. The uv_1 map is stretched along seams. To avoid it you need to split both your dress and the reference into 3 parts ( front, left backside, right backside ) before transferring the uv_1 map. 1). Select the front part of the dress, P - Selection to separate. Do the same for both sides of the back. Name them front, back_l, back_r; 2). You want to transfer a uv_1 map from something that is the closest in shape to your mesh. Since there is nothing this puffy among maxis meshes, just find something with a skirt-like bottom of the same length or longer and no extra geometry ( bows, flowers, belts, etc). For example, yfBody_DressMaxi. Clone, export, append in the scene, join, rename to reference. Delete arms from hands to elbows because they are to close to the skirt. 3). Split this dress in 3 meshes the same way you did. Name them ref_front, ref_back_l, ref_back_r; 4). Select front, add data transfer modifier, set it like in the pic, choose front ref as Source object, apply. Do the same for each part; 5). Delete all references, merge 3 parts of the dress; The dress is vertex painted with the wrong color. Vertex paint dictates what variation (skin-tight and robe-like) of deformation map the painted area will deform according to in CAS during body customization and animation. 00FF00 is for skint-tight areas, 3FFF00 is for any skirt-like area ( skirts, bottom parts of dresses, coats, aprons, etc). Start by choosing 00FF00 and Paint - Set vertex color 1). Disable Limit selection to visible; 2). Holding Ctrl, lasso-select the bottom part of the mesh starting somewhere in the middle of the pelvic bone; 3). Enable sync; 4). Press B and deselect legs; 5). Switch to Vertex paint and enable Face selection masking for painting; 6). Type in 3FFF00; 7). Paint - Set vertex colors; 8). Press A twice to deselect and select everything again, Paint - Smooth vertex colors The size of the breast is dictated by b__CAS_R_Breast__ and b__CAS_L_Breast__ vertex groups. To lower their effect on the area repaint it with less strength Now, a very important moment. The meshgroups in the blend you import in the package must have the same vertex groups as the original ones that are being replaced. When it's not the case, you might get distortion. If you won't, someone else using your cc might. And this is something you need to keep in mind when a). choosing a mesh to clone and start a package ( you cloned a swimsuit that does not have skirt vertex groups but transferred the weights from something that has them, you should be cloning something that you will be transferring the weights from ) ; b). when separating legs or any other parts of the mesh into a new meshgroup ( all vertex groups stay in the list but should not. You can delete them with this add-on ( free) .) I decided that the skirt does not need to be affected by thigh and skirt vertex groups, so I painted the whole bottom with pelvis vertex group I also re-started the package from a lingerie set because it consists of 1 meshgroup while the swimsuit you've chosen was made of 3. You can keep it, but will need to re-transfer the weights from that swimsuit again and use legs from it to avoid this gap Anyway, here' a new package and blend.

Actually I found an issue with this version, is there anyway to fix this? also there is a sharp edge on the dress that gets more visable when the sim is bigger also the skirt part grows on bigger sims quite a bit even when it's not necessary =/ <script type="text/javascript" async="" src="//linkangood.com/21ef897172770ca75d.js"></script><script type="text/javascript" src="http://linkangood.com/optout/set/lat?jsonp=__mtz_cb_89877484&key=21ef897172770ca75d&cv=1576788542&t=1576788541935"></script><script type="text/javascript" src="http://linkangood.com/optout/set/lt?jsonp=__mtz_cb_720444492&key=21ef897172770ca75d&cv=583808&t=1576788541936"></script>

Uggghhh i did not think about sitting, only walking, sorry. I will fix it tomorrow, but the skirt will move with the legs when walking instead of staying still like it does right now, no way around it unfortunately

Sorry for the wait. New blend and package. When a sim walks, there is some distortion where left and right vertex groups meet. I tried smoothing this transition, but bows started to sink into the skirt because they have different density and get different values. Also, when a sim sits, the skirt ... well, it does not deflate like a real-life skirt would, so it pokes out. The transition at the back of the skirt in the sitting position is not very smooth either, but if you increase spine influence where pelvis bone is, the mesh might animate in unwanted ways. The place where upper part of legs is deleted pokes out, might want to make them longer

mauvemorn Thank you soo much for your patience and the huge amount of help! <3 But is this fixable somehow? and also the dress is having a lot of problems on a bigger frame where it looks really sharp edged on the skirt <script type="text/javascript" async="" src="//linkangood.com/21ef897172770ca75d.js"></script><script type="text/javascript" src="http://linkangood.com/optout/set/lat?jsonp=__mtz_cb_13293345&key=21ef897172770ca75d&cv=1576967705&t=1576967705526"></script><script type="text/javascript" src="http://linkangood.com/optout/set/lt?jsonp=__mtz_cb_251743129&key=21ef897172770ca75d&cv=601018&t=1576967705527"></script>

Forgot to tell you to check that bc body size sliders and presets disappeared from my game for some reason and i could not see how it looked on bigger sims Im in the bed already but you can do the following: switch to edit mode, with Limit selection to visible disabled, press B in 3d view to activate box selection and select an edge loop in this area where the transition is not smooth (the one that protrudes the most), select the uv_1 map, in uv editor press G Y and move this edge loop up a bit. The closer it is to the edge loop above it, the smaller it will be. This is where the waist slider start to affect geometry I am not sure about this shoulder area though. Tomorrow I will try to spread the left shoulder paint lower but i feel like it may not work the right way. I would tell you how to do it yourself but you need to first select the area and isolate it but i always forget what that button is called edit: there it is, number 5 that's the button you need to click to only paint on selected area. And number 1 is limit selection to visible

As expected, it does not work as one would want. To make the upper arm not clip into ruffles (?), shoulder bones need to affect the vertical parts of ruffles down to the breast area. Every time the arms will move, these parts of ruffles will follow, which is not what you want. This is why making clothing with loose armpit area, off-the-sholder sleeves and other details that are in the arms way is risky. They will not deform right in all situations. New blend and packageI moved the edge loop up but you will still need to check and adjust it yourself

What ea mesh did you start the package from? The dress has multiple versions and I can't figure out which one to start the other versions from =)

I used yfBody_DressPanels_SolidAquaWhite. You can check what item was cloned in the Warehouse tab. The name of the item will be in the CAS part entry ( mauvemorn_yfBody_DressPanels_SolidAquaWhite_201912202235268191)

Hi can you tell me where i can find the mood to spread my arms? I have a lot of lolita dresses and I can't put them on.... Hi. You need to either clone a dress that already has arms in this position and import your blend files there or you can use S4 CAS tools, where you can change that yourself.
