hi S4S forums! o/ I'm very interested in making my own sort of CC, maxis match style but there doesn't seem to be a ton of it that I like. I wanted to make a few items of furniture to start out. I know there's the tutorial on how to make a surface that you can place items on (for the TV), but i was looking into making something like this: Sort of a TV stand + bookshelves combo. I had the idea to make one side of it a functioning bookshelf and the other side hold objects that i pre-determine like plants or knick knacks. I could just make them all separate items, but I was looking to make them one item, maybe stitch two bookshelves and a tv stand already in-game together. What I can't seem to understand though is a few things on how to tackle the project: -how can i make it actually functioning and looking right, instead of a sim grabbing a book from the 'item holding' bookshelf or just out of thin air? -to make it functional, would it be easier to make them separate objects that can be placed next to each other? or is there a way to sort of "code" the object to make it to where the sims will pull a book from the 'books' bookshelf? I tried to look for others asking the same thing, and I found a sort of similar question, where someone wanted to make a deco shelf a bookshelf but it didn't seem to get 'answered' per say. At least, with what i would need to know personally.

I'm not sure how to adjust the point where sims grab the books from but otherwise I think you should be able to combine all pieces into one object since the TV and deco items can be placed via slots that you can add to any object. There is a tutorial how to add slots to an object here: sims4studio.com/thread/4420/use-sims-studios-slot-editorYou can look up the name for the TV slot by looking at a TV table from the game. Splitting it into three separate pieces would be easier and give you more variety to combine the objects so I would suggest going with this option though.
