Hello! I'm new to modding Sims and am mostly cutting my teeth doing recolors. I managed a recolor of a hair that turned out beautifully. But everything else I've attempted to add a swatch to (all CAS items) have resulted in nonworking mods, and I have no idea why. I've tried searching for answers to no avail (maybe I've just missed it?).
Any ideas?

You need to explain how they aren't working. Are they not showing up? Do they crash the game? etc.

You need to explain how they aren't working. Are they not showing up? Do they crash the game? etc. My bad! Well, one (out of like four different attempts) showed up, but not only the new swatch but all the swatches were corrupted/missing textures. Mostly, though, they just aren't showing up in CAS at all. No game-crashing at least, but it's still pretty frustrating.

Are you making sure to include the mesh in your mods folder? And are you selecting "Create CAS Standalone" or "Add CAS Part Swatch"? I think I've worked out the problem now! Thanks in large part to your questions which made me realize what I was doing. I'm still a little fuzzy on it, but I believe I was selecting "Create CAS Standalone" but was, I think, saving over the original file and corrupting it in the process. I've finally gotten a recolor to work, by actually saving it separately. Big facepalm moment, really. Sorry to be a bother; I guess I'm a bit slow on the uptake at this sort of thing. ^^; Thank you both for the assist!
