I followed this site's advice after downloading as instructed.
"If you are trying to install the application on your Mac but receive a message that says it can't be opened because it is from an unidentified developer: when running the installer, press Ctrl and click the App icon and choose open. According to Apple, Inc., this should add Studio as an exception to your security settings and you shouldn't have any problems opening it with a standard click."
It opened and I tried to open the pkg file inside, but was met with the message: 'Sims_4_Studio.pkg' is damaged and can’t be opened.'
According to Mac forums, an option was to open the 'Terminal' app and put in code that would disable the Gatekeeper program. Tried and it did not work.
I am running Mac 11.1 Big Sur.
I'd like to try out this program. What is my next move?
Thank you.

Try re-downloading that file again. Sometimes files get corrupt during downloading.

Then it might be a damaged file. I can try opening it with Windows version and if it doesn't work then it is just a damaged file.

Instead of Chrome, I downloaded it via Safari. Mac was still rejecting it, then opened it anyway. Weird.
Thank you for your time though!
