Hi all.
I’ve been using Sugar to clean up My CC and I think it’s going to be really good for my game.
But some of the tags are confusing and I thought it would be good if we could pool our collective knowledge to try and decode them.
Which are optional? Which are required?
Are any of these designations going to cause problems with our games or how things appear in the catalog if done wrong?
Age & Gender Flags:
I think I understand this. Basically, there are three types of body meshes in the Sims 4.
1. child (unisex)
2. female elder/adult/young adult/teen
3. male elder/adult/young adult/teen
You don’t really have the option of making clothes for one mesh type work for another (e.g. female elder/adult/young adult/teen clothes cannot be converted to the male mesh by simply checking a box).
Why and how are some of the children’s clothes available to only one sex?
Age Appropriate:
So if I have some latex fetish wear that works on the female elder/adult/young adult/teen mesh, I may think to myself that it is, none-the-less, inappropriate for teens and not check them off.
And does this affect anything in the game or catalog?
Colors:
Is it useful for filtering option in CAS?
How does the Color Palette work?
What about the designation of Fabric?
Occult:
How does this work? What happens if you check off just ‘Human’? Just ‘Alien’? Both? Neither?
My reading on batch fixes doesn’t really answer this for me.
Archetype:
A category you use when you want to describe something, but don’t what it is that you are trying to describe?? Race? Ethnicity? Language? Geography? Better just be coy, I guess…
Outfit Type:
What does “situation” mean?
Andrew says this about it here, “I think that the situation tag is probably more related to scripts than it is to categorization. EA has included a tag for witches, but beyond that I don't know what their plans are for it.”
Leave it checked or unchecked??
My game only has categories for everyday, formal, party, sleepwear, swim, and athletic. (I sure wish I had “underwear” instead of both “formal” and “party.”)
What does designating something as “Nude” actually do?
I think it allows Sims to wear the clothing in the shower, which generally we don’t want, right?
Where do the designations for career and retail uniform show up?
Witch?
Sub Part Type:
This seems straight forward because I don’t see any weird designations that aren’t shown in CAS – these are just the subcategories for the outfit type (i.e. you can label the kind of top, etc. an item is).
Please fill in any blanks, but be clear about what you know for sure and what you are speculating about (and if you’re going to speculate, no need to repeat something and please have some reason to come to your conclusion). Also, please confirm the information of others if you know for sure.
