alright. ive got this buffet table, its a deco item. i talked to r3m @ mts, said i can use the "conjure grilled cheese" from his grilled cheese aspiration mod, but - idk where to start and i need to add a slot to a slotless object. it was converted from TS2 slotless so i cant TSRW the slots.
im a bit overwhelmed lmao. i tried OMs adding/moving slots tut but the table top doesnt have an opposite side to copy vertices to but the entire table top is already selected with no where else to select vertices! i cant seem to get that tutorial to work on top of creating an xml file to create grilled cheese to appear on the table itself.

o: ...i...feel so incredibly dumb for missing that. would this work for tables that are shorter? id like the platters to "appear" when conjured in the empty spaces rather than up on the already displayed sammiches.
or could i shrink a table down to meet the height required and then do what you said?
You can move that slot wherever you want, up down, left right, duplicate it. You can clone a coffee table and do the same thing with the export/import and get heaps of slots, you can delete the ones you dont use.
Just remember, you only move them in blender to get the position of the x,y,z, everything is done in s4s.
This tut is easier to follow as it deals with just moving them

ok. sweet. now that im getting the slots under control; i was prepping for the actions when you click on the table.
i cloned the banquet table and got its tuning file. imported and edited so itd only have 1 option (serve grilled cheese) instead of the other foods. BUT i cant get it to even change the name to Grilled Cheese. it still says in-game "serve almond macarons" even though i changed the line in the .xml file.
a little confused ill admit. because with the slots added, id like the food to appear in those slots! but like??? wut the heckie
i also cant find how to change the simoleon price! what on earth am i missing???

Which item is it that you want it to act like? You need to make your item like that one. You may need your own custom tuning to make this item.

update: could someone look at this and tell me what im missing to get this thing to work? everything is slotted (cloned from banquet table), got the recipe i need - the sim does the action but nothing appears.
The package that you uploaded still had the wrong menu text, was it not the latest version of your package since you changed it?
I tried it in game and had the same thing happen when my Sim tried to use it. Usually when a sim stops like that in mid-interaction and resets it means there is an error and the details will be in your Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4\ folder called lastException.txt. This is what it said when I tried it:

Basically it is saying that it is expecting a specific slot that it didn't find. In your interaction tuning I see the slot name _ctnm_sml_plate_1 repeated in it. The only slot that I see in your Rig is called _FX_ but I'm not sure I have the latest version of your package. Is that what you named the slot that you added? If you have that slot, you may want to check your lastException.txt file.
