Do we really need this? Are the majority of people who play this game with mods in unaware that every swatch in a CC.package is a CC swatch? My bet is that the answer to that question is "no". People know a swatch in a CC item is a CC swatch.

In theory I wouldn't mind it if it wasn't the biggest most obnoxious icon they could possibly use, even if it's on every swatch of a CC item. If the wrench was shrunken down to a quarter of it's size and placed in the corner of the swatch that'd be much better imo.

I'm one of the few people who is really happy with this. It's nice because it makes it super easy to tell if something custom is misbehaving.
Plus it makes it easy to tell for CC with bad thumbnails if it's something unique.

Oh no, it covers up our carefully crafted custom swatches. I hope EA will fix this. :(

I like the instant recognizability of custom content with this symbol but they should make it a game option. Thanks orangemittens and andrew for the two mod variations so we can choose despite the lack of toggle for this in the game itself. Thanks lavsm for linking to the solution.

We're going to have a solution up soon that keeps the icon on catalog and swatch thumbnail for people that want to see it but it will be sleek and attractive instead of the ugly giant wrench. I have no idea what EA was thinking with that.

Thanks for the fixes. Are there any plans for a tutorial on how to make our own replacement icons?

I can write one. It will change the icon on every piece of CC in your game though. Unfortunately, due to how this was implemented by EA there is no way to make it so different content has different icons.

That's fine, I just wanted to try to make a smaller icon for the catalog thumbnail. Thanks.

Well, I actually like the visual identification, in general. Though I do agree that the wrench icons on the swatches are way too big and intrusive.
At first, I too thought there was no reason at all to have the icons on the swatches. BUT . . . then I realized that I do have a few (albeit rare) instances of recolors that add swatches to the existing EA catalog thumbnails. Actually, I kind of prefer that, assuming the recolor is really not a huge departure from the original. That's actually a thing I want to look into and do a bit here -- combine some of these recolors I have so they use the same catalog thumbnail rather than having a bunch of entries for crop tops, with 6 colors on that one and 4 on this one and . . . you get the idea. The catalog is just getting too big and too much to scroll through, and some of these things really don't need separate thumbnail entries.
Anyway, I'm happy to see the AOM mods for this, and I've just DL'ed the one that changes the swatch icons to dots, so I'll give that a try. Sounds like it should be good for me. Thanks again for providing us all with choices to make our game work the way we'd like it to!

I'm sorry to pull out this nearless dead thread but the no CC wrench mod by OM is broken with the actual patch. Will there be an update?
