Howdy >:3 I've been trying to make Sims 4 hairs for ages. I think I'm doing it wrong. I have a mesh I made (not hat-compatible,) then go to S4S, check "Create 3D Mesh" and CAS, choose a random hair, and click "Import Mesh." It says "Importing mesh..." properly with no problems, but when it finishes loading, it stays at the same random hair I chose. This has happened twice now, with pigtails I made and short hair. Please help!

Make sure the cut numbers are correct under Scene. Also are you cloning the sims 4 mesh first from S4S > Exporting the Cloned Hair > Import your new hair > Assign cut numbers, weights, etc etc > Then Reimport? Here's a tutorial on hair basics if you've missed it. This could prove helpful as I myself don't make custom hairs.

I did not clone a S4 hair and edit it, I created an entirely new mesh. Also, I did not assign cut numbers or weights, as I don't know how to do that... I think that is my problem. I'll have to search how to do that (since I cannot find it in the tutorial )

Most of the question you have can also be answered by browsing this section about different cas items. Most tutorials can be applied to other cas items. Good Luck!

I can't seem to figure out what to do, because besides the type (which is set at "NONE" and not "GEOM") I'm all good, I believe.

Under "Scene" is where you will find the areas to edit the geometry and cut numbers.

Under "Scene" is where you will find the areas to edit the geometry and cut numbers. Oh, I know that is where they are, but if I put it a GEOM, it doesn't work because my mesh does not have a "GEOM" part. Will it work if I rename "001" to "GEOM.004"?

GEOM is for CAS. What item are you working with? If you're working with objects it will say NONE instead of GEOM. Post more about your project and look at the object tutorials here.

Hi Flowey, I looked at your package and I think I see your issue. Two of your groups were not changed over to Geom, they were set to none and the cut numbers weren't properly set. Also you were missing the correct uv names like uv_0 and uv_1 for each group. The UV maps still need to be updated to fit correctly. Here's the new .blend and .package files
