Hi, I have a little problem. I was trying to lenghten this dress but for a couple of days trying I still have no idea how. I was looking for tutorials but I haven't found any. Can someone please tell me how to do this or if it's any tutorial about it link it? If there is no option to lenghten clothes can someone please tell me how to make asymmetric bottom? I don't know how to cut or which tool to use to make asymmetric clothes. I always shrink the clothes using B button on the keyboard and mouse but when it comes to making something asymmetric I get lost ;( I'm using Blender 3D.

Hi arwen. There is no specific tutorial about how to make the dress longer. In order to do this first of all you need to check tutorials about making new clothes here (how to shorten the skirt) and here and here (how to merge meshes using blender). If you don't know how to work in blender, check this thread for the links.

There are definitely ways to lengthen clothing, and several different ways. One of the easiest ways would be to simply stretch it downwards. However, this method will make patterns look awful (stretched) on the texture unless you tweak the UV map, but should be okay with solids. You would select bottom part of the dress (do not select the leg parts that are inside the dress) and move it slightly downwards. Then deselect the top line of faces from the part you had previously selected, and move it downwards again. Repeat until it's low enough for your taste. You'll may notice the legs are cutting through the mesh now, all you'd need to do is remove the extra leg parts inside the skirt, just leave enough so legs are seen "entering the skirt" with no gaps. Remember you will also need to tweak the weights of this new dress since your hip weights will be sitting on the thighs, and so on. Alternatively, you can create an asymmetric bottom on any dress of your choice. All you'd do is select verices (both front and back) of the bottom line and move them downwards, so you're turning a horizontal line into a diagonal. If you're thinking of shortening a long dress in the process, I suggest reading the thread about shortening clothing that feyona already linked, because it goes over useful things like adding missing leg parts, and closing off the mesh on the bottom. Keep in mind stretching (or smooshing) a mesh will always result in wonky patterned textures unless you also stretch/smoosh the UV map.

Thanks for help j but I still don't know how to do it. When I select area I don't have those arrows as you on the pictures. Area is just yellow and that's it. I don't know how to make this to show up. Any help with that?

You may need to click this button for the arrows to show up. You can also select a vertice and change its position by changing the XYZ coordinates. So if you want to lower a vertice, you'd change the Z coordinate.

Hi, j I did the stretch technique that made my texture skewed. How do I adjust the UV map accordingly?

Hi HugHug003, you edit the UV just as you edited the dress. Select the modified vertices and move them down. You'll have to edit the textures manually on your image editor of choice as well to match the uv.

inabadromance Yes, I have already seen this post. I am new to meshing and UV mapping (as in yesterday) so this is gibberish to me and that's why I posted about it myself. "You would select bottom part of the dress (do not select the leg parts that are inside the dress) and move it slightly downwards." Got that part."Then deselect the top line of faces from the part you had previously selected, and move it downwards again." uhm yah idk how to do that or what that means ???
Edit: wait ok, I understand now. But that technique still stretches my texture :(

HugHug003 We're already discussing this on your OTHER THREAD, please head over there and read my reply and explanation.
