Has anybody read this post at simsvip The Sims 4: Improved Lighting TeaserDo you all think this will have any effect on any cc that we have previously made. I hope it doesn't drastically change the way we make content. What are your thought let's discuss

I actually really like if they improve the lightning. Now it really sucks. However, hopefully they don't tweak something that breaks the CC. That would be terrible. We'll see.

Honestly, I don't like the new lighting. I much prefer the cartoony vibe and look.

The lighting in the game feels off. My screenshots are like SO dark during regular play. oh, well, hope springs eternal

I really like the new lighting, I have deleted so many ceiling lights its great. I was taking pictures this morning and noticed the sun comes through the windows and throws some great shadows now. I can also see the colours the objects are meant to be

I am not sure if this is related, I guess it is: How are everyone's curtains behaving? I have noticed that some of the curtains I use have drastically different colours from their normal colour. Which is bad in itself but gets even worse because only some windows seem to be affected. So I have normal curtains on one side of the room and oddly coloured ones on the other. It only seems to affect curtains which slightly overlap with the window.

I have noticed today that two of my curtains are showing up blue. I had assumed it was my fault and am going to check the spec later. And yes I have noticed that the curtains are lit uneven and it can't really be due to the time of day/sun because it stays that way. Taken a few minutes ago. I have no explanation for this?

The New Lighting was from the Update just before Dine Out was released, it looked Great but it revealed that my CC was missing Bumps and Specs and made me Cry like a 2 year old....Hahaha! Having done a Crash-Course on Bump and Specs and Playing with the Full Bright on Diffuse Studio settings, the Objects look much different these days because of the in-game Shadows, even inside...it Blows my mind. After looking into the RLES2 files, it would be BEYOND AWESOME if we could access and play with that for Objects....but alas, not yet. Back to Experiment...Experiment....

anska yes I did notice that; I am glad I was not the only one. I thought my curtains were strangely buggy or something and then i realized it was strange light.

eronoel I am not sure if you have seen it but there recently was a thread about the curtain-problem in the help forum. Fortunately there seems to be a rather simple work-around for this bug: You simply have to make sure that the curtains snap to the wall and not to the windowframe as they normally would. This is most easily achieved by simply placing the curtains before the placing the windows. (Many thanks again to phoenixc for the suggestion.)
