One lovely night in Windenburg: Contently Valerie sank onto the sofa of her tiny living room. Her brother Victor with whom she shared the small cottage in the outskirts of Windenburg patiently sat down on the stool of the piano, while his sister prattled on: "Wasn't the Jungle Moss Egg with Lavender Wisps just a dream? And the wine ... we desperately need to buy one or seven bottles of that one. What was it called again?" "Monte Vista Reserve, I believe." Victor offered helpfully. After allowing his sister to revel in the memory of past treats and nibbles for just a few minutes longer, he spoke up again. "But, dear sister, have you also managed to notice the sordid secret of your new favorite restaurant?" he asked with an air of innocence. A second past. The second that Valerie needed for the implication to sink in and to rouse her from the content fatigue of a very full stomache. "Oh but I haven't" she exclaimed, "and sordid details are my favorites." "I know, dear sister, so I will tell you," her brother replied. He beckoned her to come a little closer before continuing in a hushed voice: "Have you noticed that the very posh and expensive restaurant we visited today uses the same sign as The Squid - that dreadful place down at the harbour? And come to thing of it, it also looks remarkably like the one from that diner in Oasis Springs and ..." "But this can't be!" Valerie interrupted him with indignation, "we absolutely have to do something against this utter lack of significance in signs!"
And so - full stomaches notwithstanding - the twins set to work ...
At the same time in another place: I do like the modular restaurant signs that came with "Dine out" - but I was a little disappointed with the variety of elements offered. So, to at least distinguish my Seafood restaurant from the others, I recoloured the "Coat of Utensils Sign" to display an anchor instead of cutlery. The sign comes in all the original colours and of course requires the "Dine Out" GP to work. Also please note, this is the first cc I ever shared and while it works fine in my game, I am not sure if I haven't forgotten something ...

One dreary night in Windenburg: It was a faint knelling from the distant belfry, indicating that the night would soon become morning, which broke Victor out of the reverie with which he had been reading all night long. Not an unusual event for certain but this night, something was different. Should he have indeed spent several hours with his beloved books without his sister barging in to inform him of her newest brilliant idea or reminding him to eat or trying to drag him to the newest café, nightclub or restaurant? Valerie's prolonged silence did not bode well and so Victor set out to find his sister.
The quest was, admittedly, a rather short one. Victor found Valerie in the kitchen of their shared cottage, her gaze fixed on the floor. "Sister dear, are you feeling quite well? You did not again test the effect of one of your potions on yourself, did you?" Victor asked, slightly concerned. "Oh I am quite fine brother dearest but the floor isn't." She replied not taking her eyes of the checkered marble tiles. "The floor isn't? What is wrong with it? It doesn't even look dirty." Now Victor too eyeballed the tiles, which to him looked like they always did. "It is ugly," Valerie said decidedly. "But I thought you liked diagonal tiles," her brother replied puzzled. "Oh I do, but I don't like those tiles. They are so ... so shiny and will you take a look at those veins." Valerie complained. Now Victor too scrutinised the floor before he offered helpfully: "I do believe we still have some remainders of that acidy solution left in the Vault. You know the one from the Wormhole malfunction? It might help against the shine?"
And so - with the fruits of past misfortunes - the twins set to work ...
At the same time in another place: I am not overly fond of the diagonally checkered marble floor which unfortunately is the only such floor in the game. I much prefer the look of the Lotta Terracotta tiles, slightly dull with visible gaps. So I started out by making a diagonal version of the terracotta tiles and later on added a small version of it (made from the digital walls) - which was when I thought that matching walls might be swell too and so I completed the set by making walls ... long story cut short: As the walls were the last thing I came up with their colours don't match those of the floor tiles 100% but they come close enough, I believe.
The set contains: Large diagonal tiles - in colours pictured, can be found under tiles Small checkered tiles - in colours pictured, can be found unter tiles 4 walls - Clawfoot-shower-tub-heigh and roughly counter heigh (both with and without trim), in black, white, red, pink and green, can be found unter tiles
The zip contains a merged package and a folder with seperate files, please choose one.

No story this time but a couple of bright colours to start your week with. When I got the Sims4 I liked Willow Creek and its bright houses best, I just wished for them to be just a little brighter still. Sandy from ATS offers great recolours for alot of the Basegame doors and windows, which I enjoy very much and used in my version of Willow Creek for a long time. However I wanted to have a few different colours, more wall options and most of all matchingly bright recolours of Plasticbox's Shutters - which probably are one of the most used cc items in my game - so I sat down and made my own set. The set includes recolours of:4 walls: Simple Siding, Clapboard Crush (with and without Corners) and Starboard, in 12 colours shown above (Starboard has two additional swatches in white and another navy-blue) 6 windows: Almost Secure Security Window, Shutter to Think, Suburban Outloook, Highbrow Window, The Clapper and The Woodcutter Window, in 12 colours 5 doors: High Arched Double Door, Diamondpanel Door, Windowed Door, Doublepanel Door and Squeak and Creek (GTG), in 12 colours 1 recolour of Plasticbox's Separate Window Shutters in 12 colours 1 shutters fitting The Narrow Outlook, in 12 colours and Maxi's original ones All colours are based on swatches from the basic darks and basic standard walls and should match them rather closely. The zip contains a merged package and a folder with separate files. Please choose only one. Updates 11st July '16: Added shutters for The Narrow Outlook #Anska #recolor #wall #window #door #buildmode

The GTW Libraer Bookshelf decluttered and equiped with a multitude of slots. The larger shelves have 16 small and 2 medium slots, unfortunately you cannot use both medium slots with medium-sized objects at the same time without using bb.moveobjects. The top is covered with small slots and 3 medium slots, the narrow shelves have three small slots only, because I found it easier to actually place things this way. To get an impression of the slotting without cheats please take a look at the picture at the bottom, the pink cupcakes indicate medium-sized slots. #Anska #Libraer #uncluttered #bookshelf #bookcase #vintage #retailshelf #gtw

One lovely Sunday afternoon in Windenburg: Not even the remarkable inventions of the Valerius twins do quite finance themselves. So, in the name of progress and proper fundings, even Windenburg's brightest minds from time to time feel the dire need of having to remind their patron - or should I say patroness - of just why the twins' experiments are worthy of financial aid. Fortunately, most would agree that there are far more unpleasant ways of spending ones time than to politely beg money of Lady Evelyn DeWinter. Being the Grande Dame of Windenburg and a passionate patroness of arts and science, Lady Evelyn prides herself on her soirées and afternoon teas, where the brightest and most creative minds of all Simtopia mingle for witty banter and canapés.
On this particular afternoon, the twins had been invited for tea and nibbles by Lady Evelyn and her husband-to-be Mr. Chambers of Chambers&Chambers Groceries. (As you might guess, the story of how a great lady fell for a lowly shopkeeper involves much scandal - but it will have to wait for another time.) The small company was just enjoying homemade scones and pie when Lady Evelyn and Mr Chambers yet again left for the kitchen to fetch more tea. "I wonder why they never use any of their tea sets," whispered Valerie, once she was positive Lady Evelyn and her fiancé were out of earshot, "I know Lady Evelyn owns at least three." "Because those are heirlooms, sister-dearest," her brother replied before taking another generous mouthfull of scone, "heirlooms are not meant to be used. They are meant to be gathered and displayed and to gather dust themselves." "Oh but that does not make very much sense, does it?" his sister replied while gently poking the pie on her plate with a fork. "Customs rarely do," her brother replied, "that's why they are customs, I suppose." "We could get them a new one for their wedding," Valerie argued, adding, "if they ever manage to set a date, that is."
At the same time in another place: To make it easier for your sims to have tea or drinks in their living rooms, this set includes two modifications of the Luxe Drink Tray from the Spa Day GP which give it the appearance of the tray from the Royal Crabtree Tea Set and offer your sims a broader choice of beverages. Both trays can be found amongst the small kitchen applicances and cost 500 § each. Look for icons picturing a cocktail glass and a teacup respectively. Both are standalone objects and do not alter the original, you can use one or both.
Mr. Chamber's Cocktail Tray holds a maximum of four glasses and can be stocked with the cocktails Salty Llama, Boileroom, Dim&Gusty, Sunset Valley and Silent Film. The costs of restocking reflect the base prices of the drinks. If your sims sims' favorite cocktails are not included in this selection feel free to modify the xmls to fit your needs - should you need any help with this, please feel free to ask and I'll offer help.
Lady Evelyn's Teatime Tray holds a maximum of three teacups and can be stocked with all the basegame and Spa Day tea blends, restocking costs 5 § per cup. Because Lady Evelyn does not approve sims not picking up their mugs by the handle - and I was frankly bored by all teas looking the same - I made glass teacups for this tray which sims pick up by the handle and which are coloured to reflect your sims' choice of tea. Unfortunately, as those are custom cups, they do not have different states and the empty cups will still look full. While the custom teacups are generally enabled for restaurant usage, they are not yet sufficiently tuned for Dineout restaurants and might cause trouble when picked on the menu, I will look into this in days to come.

As I am currently moving my town and the sims in it to a new save file, I am also giving some of my houses a makeover. Sidetables and frilly display cases turned out to be an absolute necessity during those, so here is the first in probably a long series of simple edits: The Pirate Queen's Retail Display, declutttered from the Criminal Carrier reward. The display has three slots as indicated by the muffins, grab-through glass and is tuned and categorised as a retail-display. It comes in all its original colours and a variety of others matching the sealoving furniture.

Another quick recolour/edit. I really don't miss the colourwheel as much as I thought, but there are a few occasions when decorating becomes a hair-tearing experience because the preset colours just don't match. The fancy chesstable is one of the items frustrating me most in this regard, because it uses different wood-colours than the rest of the fancy furniture. So frustration won over general lazyness in the end and I recoloured the chesstable to match the wood-colours of the Undersea Traditional Dining Table - and made a posh version of the gametable along with it. The gametable comes with plain wooden tops as well as a small selection of coloured inlays.

To not clutter my studio endlessly with a multitude of little edits and recolours of Princess Cordelia's furniture, I will collect all further modification of it under this topic. Yesterday evening the doublebeds sparked my ire and so today I bring you Princess Cordelia's Galleonbed in colours matching many but not all swatches of the rest of the furniture. The bed is conveniently split into bedframe and bedding. Additionally the bedframe comes in its original pitch black swatch and a pure white one. The Pirate Queen's Bounty recolours, edits and additional furniture matching Princess Cordelia's furniture The Pirate Queen's Bedframe (double/single)For those who can never quite decide whether they want to be princesses or scoundrels. Comes in many but not all swatches of Princess Cordelia's furniture. Found under: Entertainment > Activity Costs: 1000 §The Pirate Queen's Glass CabinetLiving with a glass cabinet, you should refrain from throwing stones, but you may very well keep them in your cabinet for all to see. Also works for teacups and other valuables. Decluttered version of the Sea Princess Dining Hutch, comes in all original swatches, slotted and furnished with grab-through-glass. Found under: Surfaces > Displays Costs: 2500 §The Pirate Queen's FootstoolWhile most pieces of Princess Cordelia's furniture have a lightbrown/red and a darkbrown/red swatch, the ottoman has a white/red swatch instead of the dark option. This replaces the white/red swatch with a darkbrown/red one. Please note that this is a default override and will thus affect all previously placed items. More images under the spoiler

A simple tuning-mod which allows for custom recipes to be accessed by a decorative object. Currently the only recipes listed are the doughnut recipes from GTW, as I usually don’t have room in my kitchens for the cupcake machine, but my sims still would like to eat and cook bakerey goods. This is a multi-part download: Anska_Tuning_Foodchemistry_Cookingbook.package: The Interaction Tuning neccessary for accessing the new recipes. The Tuned Objects Folder: Contains overrides for some objects to access the custom interactions. Currently included are the BaseGame knifeblock and knifemagnet and the cookingbookpile and knifemagnet from the Cool Kitchen Stuffpack. Use them all or just one of them - or if neither suits your Sims' taste: Make your own. Simply link the Tuning of your chosen item to Anska:Object_Foodchemistry_Cookingbook (12655126593329353775). If you enable livedragging the objects can even go in your sim's inventory or a storage chest. The Doughnut Recipes: Allows doughnuts to be baked from the stove (yeah, I know .... ), also adds an unhealthy amount of calories to the doughnut tuning. A doughnut now has 300 Simcalories - instead of 0. Recipes have been updated for City Living and all but the baconwrapped doughnuts can again be enjoyed by vegetarian sims. (requires GTW to function) Pudding Recipes: Adds the stove recipes for the GTW tartes and Crème brûlée and slightly modifies their tuning to reflect their status as delightfully sugary treats of variable skillrequirements. 3 custom pizza recipes for your sims to cook at home or to be ordered at the restaurant. Rustic pizza is served on wooden boards as shown in the picture above and has several states to indicate how much of the meal is left. Pizzas are “family-sized” so they only have 4 servings. The large serving plate is larger than the usual serving plates, because I wanted it to look nice with the pizza and didn’t want to shrink the pizza down too much. Unfortunately this means the cook will place it on the floor first thing after cooking and it will clip with the plates if you place it in the center of the table. I might have prevented the latter by restricting them to a larger slot-type, but I didn’t want to restrict placement too much. So, please place them with care, if you wish to avoid clipping issues. In order for the pizzas to be cookable in your game, you will need the Cookingbook for Foodchemistry. #Anska #maxismatch #tuningmod #custom food

One might consider this week’s goodie budgie ‘s fault. After all Armand’s store and all the lovely fashion photographies budgie made of Morgan were simply begging for a matching perfume. The result is Mirage, a snapdragon fragrance with subtle hints of chrysanthemum and orchid. Mirage can be created with 2 skill levels in Herbalism and requires a load of flowers to craft. Sims who don’t like to get their hands dirty may also simply buy it at the retail store - for a certain price of course. The buyable version of Mirage can be found in the retail tab and now sports a traditional airmail border for easy spotting as shown below. Mirage of course gives a flirty buff. To use the buyable version simply drop the package in your mods folder, open your prefered retail store venue and place the object. To craft Mirage yourself, please also download the latest version of the cookbook from its post. DeWinter’s MirageAn alluring concoction of snapdragon with subtle hints of orchid and chrysanthemum, “Mirage” was brewed from natural flowers in the prestigious Valerius Vaults. (Might contain traces of alien fibres and induce a heavy desire to flirt.) Requires: GP01 Outdoor Retreat Location: Venue > Retail Price: 250 § #Anska #maxismatch #custom perfume

As I blogged about the past few weeks, I started a series of default overrides for some of the Sim dishes in my ongoing battle against plain white plates. The first batch of the Simtopian Breakfast Brunch Buffet Basket contains eight flavours of Bread, Gumbo and Breakfast Scrambles - as well as the resources for the dishes and their empty-states. Additionally the set contains decorative versions of the dinnerware for your sims to have matching plates on their tables and in their cupboards. So clutter away ... Compability: The mod overrides the Object Definitions and Models of the recipes listed. It will therefore conflict with any mod which equally modifies theses resources, it will also render any canges to their object tunings useless. It is however compatible with mods which modify the recipe tunings of the dishes and should pose no problems when used along them. Requirements: While you can freely choose which recipes you want to use, the Anska_Object_Foodchemistry_SBB_Dinnerware package is required for all but the buyable items. Otherwise the recipes require the specific Expansion, Game or Stuff Packs they hail from. Also if you have previously downloaded my pizza mod, please remove the dinnerware package included in it, the new dinnerware package covers the pizzas too! Buyable Items: For some dishes buyable “group servings” are included, They can be found in the Venu > Retail category. They have been given a very small footprint to allow you to place them extra close together in your shelves without cousing rooting failures. Dishes currently simtopified:Bread (x 8), requires EP01 Get to Work. Buyable Version included. Breakfast Scrambles, requires GP01 Outdoor Retreat. Gumbo, requires GP01 Outdoor Retreat. Porridge, requires The Cookingbook. #Anska #maxismatch #tuningmod #override #custom food
