Hello folks! I'm a new member on the blog so I apologize if I ask do something wrong. So I haven't been using blender for too long, and today I decided to make a new hair mesh. Thing is, when I open the mesh in blender, and start modifying the hair mesh, it moves but there seems to be another mesh of the same hair underneath. Do I need to modify both one by one? Or can I delete one? If so, how? I will include a photo that I hope will explain my problem better. Again, if there is a simple solution to this, I am sorry for bothering, but I am a total noob at blender. A link to the photo: snag.gy/1EEx8.jpgThanks in advance!

Hi initialite, Those other meshes are shown when a sim wears a hat. Orangemittens explains it in this mini-tutorial here in section 3. There is another tutorial here that shows in steps 5-6 how to hide and un-hide meshes that you aren't working with. Whether or not you edit the hat versions is up to you. The consequence is that you will see the original hair (where not obscured by the hat) any time the sim wears a hat and you will see both yours and EA's in the S4S model viewer. What I would not recommend is putting the edited main hair onto all 3 meshes. This would result in the the sims hair going through the hat.

Ah, thank you for the prompt reply Andrew!
Anyway, I have 2 final questions (I think): so am I alright with adding no hat clip and just modifying the 3 LODs? And also, if I do add a hat clip, is there a specific way to do it not to mess up the hair?
Thank you for the help!

It's fine to add no hat chop meshes and just leave the ones there as is. I've seen that a lot of creators are doing just that. There are 4 LODs but LOD 2 and LOD 3 are seen from so far away in the game that unless your new hair is drastically different than the old hair no one will notice if you don't change them. I've seen a lot of creators are making their hair meshes without changing these too.
