Hi, I have a ruffle that I want to put under the bed frame. The mesh is perfect. I have cloned it from the base game pile of sport items ( I hope I have the name right). And I have noticed that the footprint line already has zeros in all three lines, as per the tutorial. It still has to be placed with MOO. That is not my problem, when I send the sims to bed they "see" the ruffle and cannot get into the bed. How do I fix this?

The pile of clothes doesn't have the best footprint - it will still block the routing path to many objects behind/near it. My sims can't even use a wardrobe with that pile next to it.
Try exporting a footprint of a rug, and importing that into your object.

Thanks, thought that would be where my problem lies. Will it be better to use a rug as the clone object?

If you use rugs a the clone have in mind that they use a different shader. That will not let your object textures to show correctly. Exporting the footprint is not hard and It could save you lots of time.

Whenever I try to import the footprint I get this error message (maybe it's just old?):
