I've been trying to make deco plates with slots for stacking, but occasionally get an error message "object not found". When it happens, the plate becomes useless and corrupts the game, making it unable to save. There doesn't seem to be any common reason why it happens, it appears randomly. I've tried using the plates from in game and also new meshes with the same thing happening with both. Any help is appreciated.

Did you delete the footprint or something? What are you cloning for your plates?

Did you delete the footprint or something? What are you cloning for your plates? no, I didn't delete the footprint, and I cloned the small 2 books clutter object (idk the name). Other than changing the meshes, I have added multiple slots at the base level (e.g for cutlery, napkins etc) and one in the middle of the surface of the plate.

What sort of mesh are you importing? Did you manually make your plates where you exported the book mesh, then replaced it with plates in Blender? Feel free to post your .package.

Thanks for the help. I imported an .obj mesh and replaced the plates and adjusted the shadow plane size. the package is here

I can't really see anything wrong with the mesh or the slots, but I did notice that the original books object you cloned off of has an _FX_ slot that your plate doesn't. Perhaps you manually removing it is what is breaking your object?

Hm, when I tried to clutter the shelves of one of my shops to the brim with those lovely bakery accessoires BrazenLotus made a while back, the game quite often went "object not found" on me too, with the object thereupon becoming useless. I don't think that there is anything actually wrong with BrazenLotus's items - or with yours - but I assume that if you place many slotted/stackable objects on a slotted surface and possibly turn move objects on too, to get the most possible clutterable amount of slots .... you at some point create errors through excessive cluttering not necessarily through faulty items. And looking at your plate, it certainly has a fair amount of slots which partly overlap with those of a table.

Thanks, doing that solved an issue with a different mesh recently, I'll give it a shot Hm, when I tried to clutter the shelves of one of my shops to the brim with those lovely bakery accessoires BrazenLotus made a while back, the game quite often went "object not found" on me too, with the object thereupon becoming useless. I thought the same thing about the slots, andhave decided to remove some and minimize overlap.

Never got this error with a custom book I made few months ago, didn't go into the game for a while ( about 2 months ) then, 2 months and 2 game updates later, got this error too today :/ Solved it with "repair your game" option when opening Origin : problem solved now But still no clue why it happened. Hope it will help you

Yeap, i've had that issue on one of my latest uploads. i had to remove the slots because i couldn't bare the chance of it happening again. i haven't find any legit solution for it.

Sadly no news about this... i'm seeing lots of users add slots successfully without any trouble so i'm not sure what could be the issue.. i'm honestly a bit traumatized about it and i'm needing a few items to have slots XD sooo... so sad.

If someone has a .package and instructions that will reliably trigger the error, the issue can be investigated.

Unfortunately i don't have any at hand, i ended up deleting the slots to prevent the issue and i don't have any previous versions. But i know BrazenLotus had this issue randomly with her stackable plates. Here's the set. As far as steps go.. i personally follow the tutorial that's in here. I click on slots / root (just to select the box) and "add" a new slot by pressing the add button, changing the name to one of the three names possible and paste the coordinates. All looks well in the preview. And it works in game. I move on with my life, exit and maybe move it around, remove the item that is on the slot.. save.. come back.. and randomly, the issue appears.
