I checked the Russian site, they have some of my CC there but they put a link to my blog, so I think that's okay to me. I know that some of the PPL cannot access to my blog, due to the country internet control. So I don't mind if they put my CC to their site. The only thing is they have to put my name and my blog link (even they can't access). :P

There were a couple people posting Studio on an adf.ly link too. I had them removed using a DMCA notice to adf.ly.

I've never shared a lot so I have to admit I don't even know how the process works. Does creating the lot for sharing automatically pull any custom content on the lot into the .package? if it's the same as the sims 3 when you share a lot or sim any cc gets packed up with it. I don't think so... From my experience you need to have the mods in your game for them to show up in the downloaded lot. Although I'm new to CC creating, and it hasn't happened to me yet (that I know of), it grinds my gears when builders upload their mods folders with a build. When I see it happening I IM them, and also reblog letting my followers know who NOT to DL from. Too many hours go into creating for others to take your content :/

Too many hours go into creating for others to take your content :/ greengirl is right; you don't have to upload all the CC included with a lot when you upload it. If you're using the Tray File Exporter program (which is the easiest way, I think), you can choose which CC to include in the zip files. If you don't select CC belonging to others, it won't be included. The tray files themselves don't include the CC used in the lot. It's up to the uploader to pick and choose which additional custom content to include with their lot. So there's really no excuse for people to upload lots with CC that isn't theirs and it's also one of my biggest pet peeves. I haven't seen anyone do it to me yet, but I've definitely called out others who have done it with other creator's work.

I actually have a question for all of you with regards to uploading lots to the gallery? My game has become a bit laggy, I read on the Sims forum about how to try and fix this, one of the suggestions was to delete your tray file, so I have been uploading my houses to my private library, thinking this was all I had to do but now looking at the instructions again, I need to actually upload them to the gallery, I just about died when I read that because the houses are not my own creations (just rebuilds) and I can say pretty much 99% CC, if and when I do upload them if my game gets worse I plan on writing a disclaimer in the description about why the house/houses are there and who actually made it and no I will not be uploading any CC with the houses cause you all created it and it took me a long time collecting it... Do you all think this is Ok or should I just not do it? Thanks for any feedback...

jagwithtude, I have no idea if any of my objects are uploaded with lots and am not really bothered if they are. But I will say this, I downloaded a beautiful house fully decorated and was daft enough to put it in my game to see what it was really like. It was unplayable due to the objects and I knew this but was curious. I have never experienced such lag since that house. I have taken out over 200 objects and checked over 160 to find most of them are bloated with the wrong size UVs or re colours that I would never use. The worse were the Sims 2 conversions, they looked so good but were so poly heavy I had to remove them. This is because a lot of that content is not meant for the sims at all they are meshes on sites like Turbosquid that have been downloaded and made into sims items. Some of the uv maps are so bad it's painful to look at them. I know some people just build beautiful houses that can't be played, they are awesome, but if a player downloads these they probably will have problems and on top of that doubles of the items (and mods in my case) that are already causing lag. Uploading empty houses is a better choice and yes I would say who made them; it's always nice to be mentioned if time has been spent on a creation, be it house or object.

Well, it's finally happened to me... a user name Frau Engel has uploaded a lot with 70MB worth of CC, and quite a bit of it is mine: frauengel.blogspot.com.au/2016/07/ts4-ice-cream-cafe.htmlI tried to leave a comment on her blog, asking her to remove my CC from the download (since my TOU explicitly says not to include my CC in lots), but she had the nerve to delete it! I've left her more comments just now, one on the download page, one on her blog's main page, and one on her Google +. She didn't just steal from me either; there was CC from everyone from Around The Sims to LeoSims...basically everyone in the community. I know some people don't care, but I don't want my CC being lumped in a lot and especially since she used ADFLY for it (something I don't even use). It's just annoying and disrespectful; making money off of something you didn't create at all. Just upload the lot and link to the CC like other decent people do. Worst off, she has a HUGE following and it's just annoying to see someone profit off of someone else's hard work. At the very least, she could credit the CC creators in the download post. Ugh, rant over.

I no longer know what's going on in this community. This is so disappointing in many ways. Actually unbeliable. Thanks for the information Britt (I will report that blog too) and feyona.

For what it's worth part of that seems like it was more of a misunderstanding. Mac asked sims-boutique for a custom skirt for a clothing boutique opening on their RP blog, and didn't clarify it'd be up for download for followers, I guess. Sims-Boutique thought it was just for the sim to wear in the pics. So that's just a miscommunication between them. But it was definitely shady of Mac to not credit Sims, add recolors w/o permission, and not take it down now that Sims-Boutique is obviously uncomfortable with that.

This is the second "misunderstanding" for this month... I was writing a big answer what bothers me in every sentence but decided not to. The second shady situation. The first one was between simpliacity and mac-cosmetics.

Yeah. If this was an isolated incident I'd give them the benefit of the doubt over that first part, I can see why some people may not believe them since it already happened. But regardless there's no excuse for no credit/not taking it down now.
