This making me sad and disappointed. (Sorry for such a late reply. I saw that his video is still up, so maybe this will be of some help.) When people steal your content and put it on YouTube, you've got to report them. It's the only way to take that person down. Twice, I saw two different people claim someone's Sims 4 music videos on YouTube, so I reported their videos, reported their channels, and I informed the people who had their content stolen. Technically you can only file for copyright when it's your own video that's been stolen, but I still reported them and their videos were removed, so it should definitely work since it's your own content. The problem with it, though, is that he didn't simply upload your video. He made his own. I can imagine it won't be easy to take that down. If I'm mistaken, though, perhaps YouTube has an option to type in a written report? You can try to find such a thing and explain the situation to them. How they took your mod, made it their own, and basically stole it without any regards for your TOU. At the very least, YouTube will see that you were the first to upload content of that kind, so they may look into it and see that your mod has been stolen. There are penalties for copyright. If he's uploaded the mod to another site like Tumblr, you can also report it there. Best of luck. (Again, sorry to reply to such an old comment. I couldn't help myself.)

Sorry for resurrecting this thread but what's up with Leahlillith? I mean she converted a lot of things from secondlife to sims 3. At first she gave credits but after 3 or 4 items she didn't and claimed them as her own. I think she got kind of negative messages such as requests to delete that stuff. So, what's the deal with converting stuff and not giving proper credits? I don't think her hairstyles are hers too, as a lot of bloggers compared her hairstyles with the supposedly original ones.

PW-Creations I wouldn't bet my life on it, but i'm positively that she creates all her meshes. It only takes comparing both meshes topographies and geometries to see this. They might look "similar" as they were done based on the same pictures, but they are indeed different meshes. She has addressed this several times in the course of years on cc creation showing comparison. That's my humble opinion.

I have a question: There was a lot of talk about lulamailunasims and her cc. I read at MTS that her website was removed because Spain (the country she lives in) has strict copyright laws. The person said that she stole ea meshes and created her own stuff. No one knows exactly for sure where she got the meshes if she did steal, or if she created them herself. So, someone who had her package files (I'm assuming he/she had permission from lunasims) re-uploaded them for her so they could still be downloaded. (Wondering if it was luna but using a different name.) Anyway, her stuff (if it is) is out of this freaking world. I have a lot of stuff. I would like to convert it to TS4. I could for my personal benefit and keeping it within my game, but I would love to share the great artistry with everyone else. Someone else converted a couple of things of hers, and she gave luna the credit. She is from Spain. I am wondering if she knows luna. I have contacted the person who converted her stuff, but have not received a reply.
What should I do? What can I do?

Most of the CC that we have are derivatives of one another apart from those that create their own CC personally. I personally think there is some other reason that the sight was closed down. In the case of converting her objects if you have them, I personally will do it, but put a note that it's based from Luna work, and you will be ready to take it off if a complaint arise later, ex except you are making it just for personal use. Besides in her original page that was taken down, I am a hundred percent certain that the policy welcomed the conversions of the objects they make.

I totally agree about her people accusing her of theft. There was just too much stuff that EA didn't even create. I do hope she is alright. I found out yesterday, today in the US it is Monday, February 26 in the O dark hundred of the morning, that someone else has some of her things, and is going to start converting what she has. But I know I have more stuff of Luna's than she does. I only know of three people to have 98% of her things, and I am very fortunate to be one. I will look into converting her stuff and trying to keep it as original as possible. If anyone here has a problem with me converting and giving this wonderful artist, luna that is, then let me know. I would like to share with S4S people first. Then, my website. TSR has already stated that they won't ever accept her things. Thank you for the support and the feedback Adonis.

Was that on MTS with a lot? 'Cause I recently saw someone who also added a mass folder to an upload of a lot with all the CC he used. I think people just need to say who made the stuff and where to find it or add a note with all downloadlinks. It's not the right way of just putting all used cc in one zip file and upload that one too... I saw an item of mine uploaded at MTS included in someone's lot along with a lot of other custom content items. I didn't say anything about it at the time but the lot was later edited and links were provided for all the custom content instead of it being included. So maybe this is an issue with new people not knowing how to do things correctly that the mods then have to help them out with. I've never shared a lot so I have to admit I don't even know how the process works. Does creating the lot for sharing automatically pull any custom content on the lot into the .package? I'm glad your issue got straightened out LL orangemittens - One way a lot can have modded cc is if someone saves the lot and exports it with the tray importer. So someone would have to actively choose the option "export" or "export with CC". I only export with CC if I'm backing up something for my personal use only. If it's a thing for everyone I make sure there is no CC and link to the creators for people to download.

If it's a thing for everyone I make sure there is no CC and link to the creators for people to download. Wow, that is different from TS3. I considered uploading a TS3 lot a couple of years ago, but decided not to. You have to keep track of every item you use in that lot and is in every photo with TSR. If you use too much CC, it isn't approved and most cc items have to have been used from TSR. If you personally created the cc, then it's ok. BUT it is still amazing how some things go unnoticed. I don't like that Tumblr posts are of other people's content. I know creators are using it as a marketing tool, but still. There are some people putting download links on their own post without stating who the actual creator was...it gets confusing after a while. My whole policy and TOU is on my website and i have completely become a real (&*%^$ about the whole thing.... I will be looking harder in lot photos now.

@augold45
If you're getting them from the gallery then you've got nothing to worry about. You have to look for modded lots in the gallery they don't show up without looking for them. Even if you do download a modded lot, you have to have the CC for it to show up. It'll just say something is missing but load the rest of the lot. Gallery is the easiest and safest way to get lots, in my opinion besides building them (which is one of my favorite things)
If you're getting it from the tray files off the net...that's when you might get some cc that was included, but 9 times out of 10 ... people will tell you that it's modded and list all of the creators and links to the pieces for you to download individually. There's only a very minor subset of folks who export everything without giving credit or those who take credit for all of it... or those who just take ad-money to point you to someone else's work. It's become kinda messy when what's her face announced what was supposed to be EA's take on the rules for providing CC to people.

The worst are sims3planet & sims4planet that violating TOU by stealing CC from various CC creators put monetizing link (shorte.st) to make money. I complained then the owner of the blog banned my IP and responded with rude comment and did not want to remove my CC uploaded there. Is there any way to report this to shorte.st to stop monetizing link from our CC that stolen by this owner?
English is not my native language so I don't know the exact proper way to address the issue using professional English language in formal situation.

when i created for sims 2 i made a phoenix sims. It was beautiful/ then someone took it and put it on the ea site. refused to take it down. I was mad as hell cause she took me forever to create. ppl that steal are lower than scum. If that person would of said i created it wouldn't of been so bad.
