Here I am with another problem. I have been through every single custom content item with S4S and everything shows up just fine. However, when I go into the game in CAS there are red x's on some content. I have run the CAS fix it and it says nothing needs fixing. I am a cc hoarder so I have tons of content. I've only gone to the kids stuff in game and there are a few things that have the red x. I'm pretty sure that it is content from items with gender m & f checked because it shows up under pants in both categories. I did reasign a few items because I didn't want them to show up under male when they are clearly female. If I click on the X item it doesn't show anything on the CAS model so I can't identify what it is nor is there anyway to know who the creator is. Any ideas?

Not sure. Could be items created based on an extension that you do not have installed.

What kind of extension...do you mean a mesh. I have all of the EP's, Game packs, stuff packs and updates.

Yeah those are what I meant episodes and such (expansion was the term, not extension :p ) I know I saw the red X you are talking about in my game but cannot remember what it was. Could be a thumbnail issue or simply a recolor for which you don't have the mesh. (but I don't think those have a red X but just an empty thumbnail) I will check in my game and tell you if I still have one.

Thank you. I have also run the batch fix for CAS and it says I don't have anything to be fixed. I'm baffled that's for sure.

Hi xmasqueen I assume you mean the clothes works out fine, it's just the thumbnail that has the red x. In my case, it happened to me when in Sims 4 Studio I had done one of the two following things: 1. deleted the automatically generated thumbnail for the item 2. not arranged a thumbnail properly for the opposite sex - I' m not sure about this, but I think where it would have been enabled for the opposite gender (as in, not gender restricted) but would be under just one "fashion choice" option. I think I reset the game thumbnail cache (more info here) and redid the thumbnail myself in Photoshop and put it in through S4S. If you have no idea which cc is causing the problem, my trick to find that out is to have Sims 4 tray importer installed (I don't have any problems with it, you can get it free from HERE), then go in game to make the sim wear it even if it is invisible (remember his or her name), save it to your gallery. Then in Sims 4 tray importer try to "Export Sim with cc" and it will tell you all the cc you had used to make it, hopefully it will ring a bell and you can go in to the exact package, and then fix it, or re-download it and replace it (it's always a good idea to check with the creator if there is an updated, fixed version). I didn't explain all this very well, just wanted to give you the general idea, let me know if you want me to explain any particular step further. Good luck and hugs.

:D I swear not more than 10 minutes ago I downloaded that tray importer. Had not even heard of it but saw it on another site and thought I'd try it out. Love it! I can't even put it on the sim in game, it just doesn't show up. I don't remember which items I reasigned in the children's clothing but I know in the adults I did delete things I didn't like. I'll give your suggestions a try. I went through all of my content to get rid of stuff I didn't like and to make sure which items might be a problem so that I could merge my content. I've done all of it but the clothing and I need to solve this problem before I can merge that. I'm almost ashamed to admit how much content I have. :

I would caution you about clearing/deleting unwanted cc. I got into the S4S program and started going through the items one by one thinking I'd just delete them from there. Indeed, I was able to delete them BUT in doing so I was often deleting a mesh I needed for a recolor...and didn't recognize that was why I had it in the first place. BTW - I have no idea just how much cc you are currently running but let me tell you....it takes my game over 30 minutes to load and the mods file tells me there are nearly 12,000 files (200 of those are folders). SOOOOO, I'm betting you have less lol :-/

I call myself a cc hoarder. lol I've done the same thing a couple of times but figured it out when a rc object was red in the game and downloaded it again. It would really be helpful if meshes were identified by the creator so numnuts like me wouldn't delete them.

Me too....well sort of. lol I think I spend more time looking at content in S4S than actually playing. I have at least been making some quilts for my game and walls as well.

I have the same exact problem but every time I click it nothing happens :-/ I think that's because I used to delete random stuff out of my mods folder and that's when it started to show random Xs in CAS

I'm not sure if sifting thru our cc in the S4S program will help us. Since I'm sitting on over 17,000 files in my mods folder...well, I'm filled with a bit of dread to even start. But that seems to be the only way to really get a handle on this stuff...that is to go thru it in that program, one file at a time and delete from there. I think those red exes point out recolors when the mesh original has been pulled....? <sigh><ugh> :-S

skanning I use Tray Importer for locating CC, and Sims 4 Studio for previewing and making final decision. What I do is create a sim, make sure that he/she is wearing only EA's stuff then I go through my CC and dress that sim in CC that I want to delete. Save that sim, open Tray Importer, find that sim and click CC. You will see entire list of CC used on Sim. With right click you can open the folder where those files located and delete them or preview with Studio first. Regarding red exes over entire sim. Most of the time it indicates that diffuse texture is missing in the file (major texture). How could this happen: recently I noticed some creators started converting other creator's hairs and put in description that "mesh is required". As a creator myself it didn't make any sense to me since toddlers can't use adult meshes, there has to be a separate mesh for toddler, it will be scaled down to fit toddler's hair. So why is "mesh required"? They way some creators create this kind of hair is they clone only CAS parts from original .package. CAS parts tell the game what texture to use, and cloned files use textures from the file that was cloned, not from new file because there is no textures in that file. So if you didn't download original mesh with textures, converted mesh will show question marks over texture.
